AeroCloud: Revolutionizing Airport Operations

AeroCloud is the new-age operating system for airports aiming to grow. Our suite includes Airport Operating Systems (AOS), PPS, and Passenger Flow Management solutions, empowering airports to gain deep insights into the movement of passengers and aircraft around the world.

We achieve this by becoming the airport’s first call for technology. Whether in times of need or growth, we stand alongside our clients, offering support through innovative software that drives their success.

Our Commitment to Excellence

At AeroCloud, being the airport’s first call means exceeding expectations at every customer interaction. This is not just a goal; it’s our standard. We prioritize detail, diligence, and a proactive approach in everything we do. If there’s a task to be completed, we see it through. If a customer needs an answer we don’t yet have, we respond promptly to let them know we’re on it. We believe in keeping our team informed, being transparent, and maintaining accountability at every step.

About The Role

Our Passenger Processing products run on hardware at the airport: barcode readers, boarding pass and bag tag printers, bag tag scanners, document readers, scales and payment terminals. We're building our CUPPS and CUSS offering, the software that lets any airline use those devices at shared check-in desks and self-service kiosks, and every device has to work with it.

We're hiring a Hardware Assurance Manager to own that hardware. You'll own the supplier relationships, the knowledge of how each device behaves, and the standards they have to meet. You'll decide which devices we use, how they're tested and verified with our software, and when they're updated or retired. You'll have the authority to block a release on hardware grounds.

You'll work in the team building CUPPS and CUSS, as part of the whole solution rather than a sign off at the end of it. You'll design the testing and approval process, and build it code first.

Responsibilities

  • Keeping a catalogue, in code, of every passenger processing device we use: model, firmware, configuration, where it runs and its status
  • Deciding which devices we should use long term and which should be retired
  • Owning our relationships with hardware suppliers: roadmaps, firmware changes, end-of-life notices and fault escalation
  • Owning the standards our devices must meet, including the CUPPS and CUSS device requirements and PCI DSS for payment terminals
  • Writing a test plan for every device, and automating it, so we can prove a device works with our software
  • Designing and running the approval process for new devices, firmware updates, releases and removals
  • Working in the CUPPS and CUSS team so device behaviour shapes the design, not just the testing
  • Investigating hardware faults from airports, and working out whether the cause is the device, its configuration or our software
  • Writing the runbooks our support teams use for each device

Our Tech Stack

Passenger processing devices connected over serial and USB: barcode readers, boarding pass and bag tag printers, bag tag scanners, document readers, scales and payment terminals. Our CUPPS and CUSS platform, being built in Rust. A hardware test bench at our Stockport HQ. Tests and tooling are written as code and run in CI.

What We Value

We'd rather know a device is right than hope it is. Decisions on hardware are made on evidence, written down, and held when a release is waiting on them. We automate the checks we'd otherwise repeat by hand, and we work as one team with the engineers building the software.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Best in Class Share Options scheme
  • 25 days PTO + statutory holidays
  • Take your birthday off work on us as well
  • Extensive upskilling and training
  • Digital Nomad Scheme
