Show job description

If you are an enthusiastic professional interested in being part of a fast-growing company with strong engineering and research culture, we are looking for a passionate Hardware Engineer to join our team and help us build the next generation of electronic products for automotive connectivity and computing platforms.

Disruptive mobility tech companies like Technica are driving the changes in electronics architecture that the industry needs to accelerate the arrival of the software-defined vehicle (SDV) era, and in this context our ability to deliver rapid prototyping hardware products is more critical than ever.

Technica is a product-oriented company, that continuously reinvest to stay ahead of the curve, and our interdisciplinary team is focused on the development of company own products roadmap and on innovative R&D electronics development projects with major customers.

We’re looking for someone with at least 5 years of hands-on hardware development experience who wants to take real ownership of technical challenges and grow within a highly multidisciplinary environment.

We value people who are curious to dig deep into how our hardware products work and are comfortable navigating complex electronic designs. Someone who is self-driven, takes initiative, and is not afraid to explore unfamiliar problems, challenge assumptions, or step beyond the boundaries of the role when needed. Just as importantly, we are looking for a strong team player who works closely with the development team and helps move topics forward.

MAIN FUNCTIONS

  • Contribute to system architecture definition during early project phases, in the context of innovative projects with evolving requirements.

  • Provide technical guidance to customers and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal hardware architecture definition in early product definition phases.

  • Lead hardware design activities, including key component selection, schematic design, PCB layout and hardware testing.

  • Ensure compliance with established Technica design processes and procedures, getting ownership of designed hardware blocks.

  • Perform PCB layout activities, including component pre-placement and routing, incorporating feedback from signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal simulations while applying EMI/EMC and high-speed design best practices.

  • Provide technical support to PCB layout specialists in design reviews and coordinate multiple contributors on highly complex PCB designs.

  • Provide technical guidance to team members working on collaborative designs, with a strong focus on mentoring less experienced engineers and fostering their professional development.

  • Understand overall product requirements and product system architecture to ensure appropriate hardware design, with a long-term view of future features and hardware scalability.

  • Be able to make worst case calculations, power deratings & simulations if required to assure design robustness.

  • Lead hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations. identifying and fixing problems found during this initial validation phase

  • Define and execute hardware test plans to validate individual circuit blocks and overall design quality.

  • Prepare EMC/Electrical/ESD test plan and coordinate overall design validation activities as well as follow-up investigation activities if required.

  • Validate and analyze hardware prototypes, ensuring reliable hardware-software integration.

  • Perform research into new technologies, ideas and trends within your area of expertise and attend relevant conferences / seminars to ensure the organization remains up to date with current technological developments and in the state of the art of all emerging technologies.

  • Participate in technical demonstrations for company management, customers, and industry events.

  • Generate accurate periodic reporting of progress and blocking points, highlighting risks and mitigation actions taken.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A clear opportunity for professional growth through end-to-end involvement in the hardware development lifecycle, from initial concept to final validation, working with highly complex architectures and electronic products.

  • A truly cross-functional engineering environment where FPGA, hardware, software, embedded systems, and system engineering work closely together.

  • Full flexibility to manage hybrid work model, depending on the tasks.

  • Company culture oriented to research engineering and a clear reinvestment mindset in research and know-how acquisition.

  • Opportunity to work at the forefront of innovation in automotive industry within a company working as pure R&D partner for main European OEMs.

  • High diversity of state-of-the-art projects with technologies 3-4 years beyond what is currently in series production vehicles.

  • Opportunity to work in an international environment within a diverse team. International mobility options are available to discuss case-by-case.
