Job Title: HDR Fee Earner

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Department: Housing Disrepair

Location: Hybrid working from home and at our Office in Cape Town

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an HDR Fee Earner. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of pre issue housing disrepair claims. Day-to-day tasks include conducting client consultations, reviewing disclosure and expert reports, drafting necessary documents to issue court proceedings and negotiating settlement. The role is located in Cape Town, but some work from home is acceptable

Qualification

• Minimum of 6 months’ of experience
• Experience with handling HDR claims
• Knowledge of procedures and protocol
• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to simplify complex legal terms
• Negotiation skills and experience in securing favourable settlements for clients
• Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Proclaim
• Professional, organized, and friendly demeanour
• Experience in a client-facing role with ability to provide excellent client care
