Sheltons Malta is looking for an experienced Head of Accounting to lead our accounting team and contribute to the continued growth of our practice.

Your role

You will lead our Accounting team, ensuring high-quality service to our international clients while developing the people, processes and capabilities needed for future growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, mentoring and developing the team, creating a positive and accountable working environment.

• Overseeing client accounting, financial reporting, VAT and tax compliance work.

• Providing technical guidance and ensuring accuracy, quality and timely delivery.

• Building strong client relationships and collaborating with our tax, corporate and advisory teams.

• Improving processes, introducing efficiencies and supporting the effective use of technology.

• Taking responsibility for team performance, productivity and the continued development of the practice.

What we're looking for

• A warranted CPA with ACCA, MIA, B.Com (Accountancy) or an equivalent professional qualification.

• At least 10 years of accounting experience, including experience with Maltese tax compliance.

• At least 5 years of experience leading teams and working directly with clients.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAPSME, Maltese VAT and income tax compliance.

• Experience with accounting software; Xero knowledge is an advantage.

• Excellent English communication skills and sound commercial judgement.
