Mable is hiring a head of analytics to set the direction for analytics across the business. You will work with the executive team on strategy, lead a team of 8 managers and analysts, and make sure our analysis, dashboards and models produce measurable commercial results. You will own the stakeholder relationships that keep analytics central to decisions, and lead how your team manages data, risk and the use of AI. The decisions you inform affect the care and support of thousands of Australians.
Day to day will see you:
Set the analytics strategy and roadmap for Mable, in line with company priorities.
Work with the executive team and senior leaders to answer the business’s hardest questions with data.
Represent Data on the Mable executive team, providing insights and advice and disseminating context to your team
Bring stakeholders insights before they ask, so analytics shapes decisions rather than reporting on them afterwards.
Lead analytics teams that support every part of Mable.
Work with product leaders so analytics is part of how every squad plans and builds.
Find and lead work that raises revenue or cuts costs, and measure the result.
Lead the delivery of dashboards, models and tools that teams across the business use and rely on.
Set priorities across several areas: settle competing requests, warn stakeholders early about delays and fix problems when work slips.
Research and drive best practices across our data platform
Lead how your team uses AI to analyse data faster, automate reporting and give more of the business direct access to insights, within Attain’s AI governance framework.
Coach your team through weekly one-to-ones, prompt feedback and plain conversations about performance and development.
Share knowledge and mentor people across the wider data function.
All about you:
At least eight years using data to inform decisions, including three or more leading analytics teams.
Evidence that your analysis changed executive decisions and delivered measurable revenue or cost results.
Confidence with executives, and the ability to settle competing priorities without escalating them.
Curiosity, and the judgement to turn loosely defined problems into clear questions and answers.
The ability to explain complex analysis simply to people without a technical background.
Curious and able to confidently express advice and opinions outside of strictly data analysis to drive decisions forward
A record of coaching people, giving candid feedback and hiring well.
Sound judgement on data governance, privacy and risk, ideally in a regulated sector.
Practical experience using AI in analytics work, and sound judgement on where it helps, where it falls short and how to govern its use.
Enough skill in SQL and Tableau (or similar) to guide and review your team’s work.
Experience in health, care, marketplaces or fast-growing technology firms is useful but not essential.
