Show job description

Turn audience evidence into decisions that shape the future of Sky News. As Head of Audience Analytics & Insights, you’ll lead the whole audience intelligence chain, from trusted measurement and performance analysis through to recommendations that improve editorial, product, platform and commercial decisions. You’ll bring Analytics and Insight together as one connected function, helping teams understand what happened, why it happened, what it means and what should change.

What you’ll do:

• Own Sky News’ audience measurement framework, definitions, standards and analytical principles, creating a coherent performance view across broadcast, digital, social, third-party and direct-audience data.

• Lead recurring performance reporting, diagnostics and deep dives, ensuring analysis clearly identifies where performance changed, for whom, on which platforms and why.

• Turn analytics, audience behaviour, research and market context into clear implications and practical recommendations, tracking whether they are adopted and what changes as a result.

• Lead senior performance conversations, translating complex evidence for editorial and non-technical audiences and ensuring discussions conclude with decisions, owners and next steps.

• Set strategic priorities for analytics and insight work, reducing duplicate or low-value reporting and focusing team capacity on the questions with greatest decision value.

• Lead and develop Analytics and Insight managers and analysts, building a connected, high-performing culture of rigour, curiosity, clear communication and practical impact.

What you’ll bring:

• Extensive experience leading audience data, analytics or insight functions in media or consumer businesses.

• Deep understanding of audience analytics, content metrics, consumer behaviour, direct audience relationships and measurement frameworks.

• Proven ability to embed evidence-led decision-making and turn complex analysis into clear recommendations and organisational action.

• Strong strategic thinking, governance, prioritisation and resource-management capability, including experience aligning business needs with enterprise data standards and teams.

• Ability to lead distinct Analytics and Insight disciplines as one coherent, high-performing function.

• Excellent senior stakeholder-management, communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to explain uncertainty and challenge unsupported assumptions.

Desirable skills and experience:

• Experience working across broadcast, digital, social and subscription or membership data.

• Understanding of data instrumentation, product analytics and audience lifecycle measurement.

• Experience with customer segmentation, retention or churn analysis.

• Experience leading organisational capability-building in data and insight.

Benefits and perks:

There's one thing people can't stop talking about when it comes to life at Sky: the perks. Here’s a taster:

• Free Sky TV or NOW package, including Sky Sports and Sky Cinema

• Pension package with up to 9% employer contribution

• Discounts on Sky products, including Sky Mobile, Sky Broadband, Sky Glass and Sky Protect
