A leading UK content and media business is seeking an experienced commercial leader to take ownership of revenue performance, forecasting, sales operations and team development across a growing commercial division.
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious, award-winning organisation entering an exciting phase of growth. The business works with major brands, memberships and professional organisations, delivering content, advertising, partnerships and audience engagement programmes across multiple channels.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you'll lead a commercial sales function of around 10 direct reports, with wider responsibility for the performance, development and effectiveness of a broader commercial team.
The focus of the role is not simply sales leadership. This position is centred on building a high-performance culture, improving forecasting accuracy, strengthening commercial processes and ensuring consistent delivery against revenue targets.
You will be responsible for:
·Leading, coaching and developing a commercial sales team
·Driving revenue growth across advertising, partnerships and sponsorship products
·Owning forecasting, pipeline management and sales reporting
·Improving CRM usage, governance and data quality
·Implementing commercial best practice, process improvement and performance standards
·Creating development plans, succession strategies and structured training programmes
·Working closely with marketing, content, finance and operational teams to maximise commercial performance
·Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, automation and AI tools
About You
You are an experienced commercial leader with a background in media, advertising, content, events or partnership sales.
You will bring:
·A proven record of leading high-performing commercial teams
·Strong advertising, sponsorship or media sales experience
·Expertise in forecasting, pipeline management and CRM governance
·Experience driving sales-process improvement and commercial transformation
·Strong coaching and performance management skills
·Excellent commercial acumen and stakeholder management capabilities
·The ability to balance strategic leadership with operational delivery
Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys developing people, creating accountability and building a culture where commercial teams can consistently achieve ambitious targets.
What's on Offer
·£65,000-£75,000 basic salary
·10% bonus
·Significant leadership responsibility
·Opportunity to shape the future of a growing commercial function
·Healthcare and wellbeing benefits
·Pension scheme
·Generous holiday allowance
·Ongoing professional development
Location: Central London (4-5 days per week in the office, with occasional home working)
