We're hiring a Head of Compliance Product to lead the products at the heart of Elliptic and define what they become in the age of AI.
Compliance is where Elliptic began and where our commercial core sits today. Some of the world's largest exchanges, banks and government agencies rely on our screening, monitoring and investigation products, and the industry they serve is at an inflection point. Compliance teams everywhere are looking to AI to make their work dramatically more efficient, freeing their people to focus on the judgement calls that genuinely need a human, with every automated decision auditable and explainable. Elliptic is building that future with our customers, not just for them, and this role owns it.
You will lead the product managers responsible for our core compliance portfolio, spanning wallet and transaction screening, continuous monitoring, on-chain investigations and risk configuration, and you will drive the product side of our agentic compliance programme alongside our design partners. Much of what you build will have no precedent. You will be inventing the category, inside the company with the data, intelligence and customer trust to win it.
This is a player-coach role reporting to the VP of Product. You will lead and grow a team of product managers and personally own some of the hardest problems on the roadmap. The product organisation is centred in London with a growing US presence.
What you'll do
Own the vision, strategy and roadmap for Elliptic's compliance portfolio, and define what these products become as AI reshapes how compliance work gets done.
Lead product for our agentic compliance programme: AI capabilities that make compliance work faster and better, with auditability and explainability designed in from the start.
Lead, coach and grow a team of product managers. Hire well, develop people deliberately, and set the standard for how a modern, AI-augmented PM works. Developing product talent is a core output of this role, not a side effect.
Stay obsessively close to customers, in creative ways: Methods such as design partnerships, analyst shadowing, product instrumentation, and internal dogfooding before anything ships come naturally to you to increase the chances of success. Convert ambiguous market signal into a clear view of what to build and why.
Prioritise ruthlessly. Demand will always exceed capacity. Sequence zero-to-one bets against the needs of products customers depend on today, and say yes or no credibly, with reasoning people can engage with.
Execute with rigour, raising velocity and quality together. Own outcomes, not shipping dates. Use AI across your own workflow and your team's to learn faster and ship better at the same time, in a domain where mistakes carry real consequences.
What this role is not
Not a compliance officer role. You are building the products compliance teams use, not running a compliance programme.
Not a caretaker role. The core products are successful and deeply embedded; the mandate is reinvention.
Not a management-only layer. You will lead product managers and personally do product work on the hardest problems.
Who we're looking for
10+ years building software products, including leading and developing product managers, with people who are better because they worked with you.
A genuine zero-to-one track record: an ambiguous problem in a complex domain, taken from nothing to a product real users depend on.
Depth in financial crime compliance from the product side (transaction monitoring, screening, KYC/EDD or investigations), built inside an exchange, a bank, a fintech or a compliance technology company.
Working knowledge of crypto and blockchain as a baseline; deep blockchain analytics experience is a strong plus.
AI-native: AI is embedded in how you work and build every day, you have shipped AI or agentic capabilities to production, and you raise the AI capability of teams around you. If AI has not materially changed how you build product in the last two years, this is not the right role.
Deep executional rigour: you break complex problems into shippable steps, sweat the details that determine quality, and reliably carry work over the line.
High self-sufficiency: you find high-value opportunities no one assigned you, create clarity rather than wait for it, and are comfortable owning a broad remit while the map is still being drawn.
Continuous systems thinking: you look for the repeatable system behind every one-off fix, building leverage so each problem solved makes the whole team permanently faster.
A data-informed operating style: you instrument what you ship, argue from evidence, and change your mind when the data disagrees.
Judgement under ambiguity: you know which decisions to make fast and which to hold open when precedent does not exist.
Comfort in regulated, high-stakes environments: you treat trust, explainability and defensibility as features, and operate well at the tension point between innovation and regulatory reality.
Restlessness about velocity and quality: you treat "that's just how long it takes" as a claim to be tested.
If you're energised by ownership, invention, and building side by side with customers in a high-stakes domain, we'd love to hear from you.
