RTS is an enthusiast culture company that builds at the intersection of gaming, creators, and brands. From global live events to bespoke branded content, we exist to create meaningful connections between fans and the worlds they love. Our team brings deep expertise across partnership sales and marketing, talent management, event production, media, community building, and IP development.
About Evo
For more than 20 years, the Evolution Championship Series (Evo) has produced the largest and longest-running fighting game tournament conventions in the world. Our events are gathering points where players, fans, publishers, developers, creators, and brands come together to celebrate fighting games and the communities that make them thrive.
Beyond our flagship live events, Evo continues to expand how we create, celebrate, and grow fighting game fandom around the world.
Role Overview
As the Head of Content, you will serve as the executive leader and editorial visionary overseeing all Evo video content, programming, and media strategy. At Evo, content is a core product designed to entertain and engage audiences, the fighting game community and its new members across the world.
In this role, you will hold executive accountability across Original Programming (Live & VOD), Evo’s Broadcast Production, Content Studio (short-form, long-form, and internal shared creative services), and Global Distribution Strategy.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished content leader that understands the overlap of the creator economy and video content distribution for IP focused properties, with a proven ability to scale multi-platform audiences, build content pipelines and navigate international media ecosystems - all the while honoring the authenticity of competitive subcultures.
Reporting Structure
You will report to RTS’s Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Key Responsibilities
Content & Original Programming
- Treat and manage Evo’s video footprint as an evolving digital product, establishing clear KPIs around reach, watch time, multi audience retention, and engagement across all video surfaces.
- Architect and direct a year-round slate of Original Programming (Live & VOD) that bridges the gap between major live events; including but not limited to talent driven podcasts, player profiles, classic archival series, variety talk formats, and episodic tournament coverage.
- Segment programming formats strategically to serve distinct fan cohorts: from technical breakdowns for core competitors to accessible narratives, hype recaps, and lifestyle crossover features for casual spectators.
- Establish cohesive visual storytelling, editorial guidelines, and quality benchmarks that elevate Evo’s content identity
Distribution, Talent & Commercialization Strategy
- Define and own the multi-platform distribution roadmap across Twitch, YouTube, social video, and third-party syndication platforms - determining what content lives where, when, and why to maximize audience growth and platform revenue.
- Oversee co-streaming policies and creator distribution pipelines, activating prominent community creators to amplify live tournament reach.
- Develop & manage Evo’s talent & caster strategy to maximize engagement, longevity and the success of Evo’s programming
- Collaborate with Business Development, Commercial Partnerships, and Sales teams to concept and package innovative, authentic on-stream and video sponsorship inventory.
Executive Broadcast Production & Content Studio
- Provide strategic executive leadership for the Broadcast Production team and external production vendors across all global live tour stops (e.g., Las Vegas, Japan, France, Latin America).
- Lead and scale the centralized Content Studio, comprising video editors, and post-production coordinators.
- Operate the studio as an agile internal shared service, establishing intake SLAs, review cadences, and delivery workflows to supply high-end video assets for internal department stakeholders (Marketing GTM campaigns, Social, Commerce merchandise drops, Product feature announcements).
- Build and govern an active digital asset management (DAM) and media archival pipeline, transforming decades of historic tournament footage into evergreen content assets.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing media organization spanning original programming, broadcast management, studio post-production, and digital channel operations.
- Own and manage the Content division’s annual operating budget, allocating capital effectively across in-house personnel, freelance studio crews, and production technology vendors.
- Implement structured post-mortem cadences to analyze performance data, operational friction points, and audience metrics to continuously evolve Evo’s content engine.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of media leadership overseeing multi-platform video content, live broadcast production, and studio post production within gaming, sports media, or digital entertainment.
- Proven success concepting, launching, and programming original VOD and live episodic slates that drive sustained multi-platform audience growth.
- Proven experience structuring an internal video creative bureau that balances daily content output with cross-departmental marketing and commercial service requests.
- Deep strategic fluency across Twitch and YouTube algorithms/mechanics, paired with hands-on experience managing international clean feeds, regional broadcast rights, and multi-language localization.
- Track record of partnering with revenue teams to build premium, authentic sponsor integrations and publisher showcases that resonate with passionate audiences.
- An intuitive grasp of the nuances required to speak credibly to grassroots subcultures.
Compensation
The salary for this role is $200,000 - $250,000, based on experience, location and qualifications.
Benefits
- Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance
- 401k plan available for employee contributions
- Flexible work schedule
- Generous PTO and company-observed holidays
- Remote-first culture
