To help with this, we’re looking for an outstanding Head of Data & Analytics – a hands-on analytics leader who can turn first-party data, web and social analytics into commercial offerings, lead and grow a multi-disciplinary team, and stand in front of clients to win and expand work. Responsibilities
As Head of Data & Analytics, you’ll lead our data and analytics capability across CRM and first-party data, web analytics and social, with paid media measurement in a supporting role. You’ll set the analytical direction for the team, raise the bar on how we model and understand audiences, and make sure every insight turns into clear action for our clients. Building on that foundation, you’ll drive the capability’s commercial growth, shaping how we package, price and sell analytics to clients in Malaysia, while leading the team that delivers it.
Day-to-day, your role includes:

- Building and executing client-specific data strategies, including gap assessments, optimal-state data plans and execution roadmaps
- Leading audience-first thinking: using first-party data, segmentation and modelling to understand audiences and their needs, and turning that into marketing action
- Fostering creative thinking around how we use data, and how we could use it to solve unique business challenges in support of all marketing activities (Media, Creative, CRM and eCommerce)
- Guiding advanced web analytics, from GA4 implementation through to BigQuery-based analysis that joins web, CRM and media data
- Supporting media partners on measurement and attribution, with the team adding value through deeper audience understanding and first-party audience activation
- Creating frameworks and methodologies for major data and strategic issues, leveraging existing Digitas intellectual capital and developing innovative concepts
- Evaluating new data sources, technology and partnerships, and staying ahead of shifts in privacy, identity and AI
Commercial, client & new business
- Productising analytics into commercial offerings clients pay for, including defining scope, pricing and the value case
- Acting as a senior client partner and go-to resource on data, measurement and technology points of view
- Identifying and growing opportunities within existing clients, and helping grow capability revenue
- Leading the data and analytics component of pitches and new business initiatives, from shaping the approach to presenting it
- Contributing to Digitas thought leadership through points of view, client workshops and industry forums
Team leadership & development
-
- Leading, managing and growing a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, specialists and capability leads
- Setting standards for quality and efficient delivery, and embedding best practice across projects
- Providing coaching, training and methodological support, and building a clear career path and succession within the team
- Collaborating across Strategy, Creative, Technology, Media and Project Management to bring data into every part of the work
Qualifications
We’re looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes:
- Typically 8–12 years of experience in analytics or data strategy, ideally with an advertising agency, management consultancy or ad tech/martech company
- Experience leading teams, including managing experienced specialists and developing future leaders
- Hands-on depth in first-party data and CRM analytics: advanced SQL, data modelling and Python, with experience in segmentation, audience modelling and customer lifecycle analysis
- Strong web analytics expertise, including GA4 and the BigQuery export for advanced analysis
- Familiarity with social listening and social performance analytics, and the ability to direct specialists in both
- Working knowledge of paid media measurement and attribution, and of activating first-party audiences into paid channels
- Experience with modern statistical learning methods (regression techniques, classification models, supervised and unsupervised learning, etc.)
- Exposure to the commercial side of analytics – scoping, pricing or pitching work – and an appetite to grow client accounts
- Strong client relationship skills, with the confidence to present to and advise senior stakeholders
- Stellar communication skills – able to translate complex data into clear, compelling business stories and recommendations
- Experience across multiple industries in the Malaysian market is a plus
- A four-year college degree; advanced degree in a quantitative field is a plus
