Your opportunity
- Lead the firm's Enterprise Data Governance and Stewardship capability, ensuring data is trusted, governed, consistent, and fit for use across business processes, reporting, analytics, client deliverables, data products, and emerging artificial intelligence capabilities.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across Data Governance, Data Domain Management and Data Triage, establishing clear priorities, responsibilities, decision rights and ways of working.
- Own the enterprise framework for data governance, including policies, standards, procedures, controls, ownership, accountability, data quality, metadata, lineage, approved consumption and escalation.
- Oversee Data Triage, including assessment of data issues, investigation of lineage and root causes, coordination of resolution, validation of fixes and identification of preventative controls.
- Lead the governance and certification of critical data elements, business definitions, calculations, metrics, data products and approved sources used for internal and client-facing consumption.
- Ensure data ownership and accountability are clearly defined across business, operations, technology and Enterprise Data Management, with effective escalation and decision-making forums.
- Partner with senior leaders to resolve conflicting definitions, address material data risks, prioritise remediation and drive adoption of enterprise data standards.
- Establish data governance, stewardship, quality and issue-management measures that give leadership transparency over data health, risks, decisions and remediation progress.
- Support Medallion data sign-off and trusted Gold-layer data products through Governance and Triage, and expand these foundations to support analytics, reporting, regulatory requirements and responsible artificial intelligence enablement.
- Build, develop and lead a high-performing team with the data management, analytical, business and technical skills required to operate effectively across the firm.

Must have skills
- Significant leadership experience in enterprise data governance, data management, data quality or related disciplines within a complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of data ownership, policies and standards, data quality, metadata, lineage, critical data elements, certification, controls and issue management.
- Proven ability to translate data strategy into practical operating models, clear accountability, governance forums and measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams, developing talent, managing change and establishing a culture of ownership and accountability.
- Strong understanding of how data moves from source systems through transformation layers into business processes, reporting, analytics, client outputs and enterprise data products.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, resolve conflicting definitions and priorities, and build effective partnerships across business, operations, Enterprise Data Management and technology.
- Excellent judgement, communication, analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to balance strategic priorities, transformation initiatives, regulatory obligations and urgent operational needs.
Nice to have skills
- Experience within financial services or another highly regulated, data-intensive environment.
- Experience supporting enterprise data products, advanced analytics or responsible artificial intelligence initiatives.
