🏛 The DEUS Initiative
We're a team of curious minds who believe technology should serve people. Our mission is to unlock the potential of AI for humanity through solutions that are not just innovative, but also ethical and impactful. We're driven by a desire to simply make things better.
Our name is inspired by deus ex machina, not because we think we’re gods, but because we design AI that steps in to support, solve, and serve.
DEUS also stands for what we do best:
Data | Engineering | User Experience | Strategy
With offices in Amsterdam, Porto, and A Coruña, we collaborate on international projects that challenge us to think deeply, build with care, and design for human good.
Will you be part of what comes next?
⚜️ About You
You are an experienced data and reporting leader who combines a strong understanding of finance with the technical judgement to guide a multidisciplinary data team. You enjoy turning complex information needs into clear, reliable reporting and building the governance, standards and processes that make it sustainable.
This role is a great fit if you have:
Proven leadership experience in financial reporting within a finance function.
A strong understanding of financial and management reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, consolidation and KPI structures.
Experience working in a multi-entity organisation or holding structure.
A track record of building or scaling a reporting or data function, including governance, shared definitions and quality standards.
A practical understanding of data models and modern cloud data warehouses, such as Snowflake.
Hands-on experience with SQL and dbt transformation layers, sufficient to review the team's work and contribute to design decisions.
Knowledge of reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker.
Experience structuring and prioritising requirements across senior stakeholders, including board members and shareholders.
Excellent written and verbal English for international collaboration and senior stakeholder communication.
…and some more points:
You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach when needed.
You communicate clearly with both finance and technical teams, translating business needs into actionable requirements.
You are pragmatic, decisive and composed under pressure, balancing priorities and managing expectations.
You enjoy developing people, sharing knowledge and helping a multidisciplinary team work towards common goals.
You take ownership of outcomes and proactively manage risks and dependencies.
You are based in the Porto area or willing to relocate, and comfortable with travel as part of the role.
Bonus points if you have:
A background in finance, controlling or accountancy; a CPA qualification is a plus.
Experience in professional services or a similarly complex, growing organisation.
Experience working with data teams using Scrum, Jira and peer review.
⚜️ What You’ll Be Doing
You'll own data and reporting within Group Finance, building on an existing Snowflake platform and live reporting products. You'll lead a small multidisciplinary team in Porto, bringing together a data engineer, an analytics engineer, a Power BI developer and a business analyst with a controlling background.
Work with the Group Finance Director to shape the reporting strategy for financial, operational and management information across the group.
Translate board, shareholder and unit leadership needs into clear reporting requirements, functional specifications and data models.
Establish and maintain consistent KPI definitions, dimensions and reporting logic across entities.
Own data governance and quality controls, keeping reporting reliable, traceable and ready for audit.
Coordinate acceptance testing and reporting sign-off with the Group Finance Director, CFO and unit stakeholders.
Oversee the operation and development of the data platform, including monitoring, incident handling and release coordination with the NetSuite and CRM teams.
Integrate new entities and source systems as the group grows.
Lead and develop the team, setting priorities and managing the reporting roadmap, milestones, risks and dependencies.
Communicate progress, scope and budget to the steering group or board.
Manage stakeholder requests and expectations, balancing group standardisation with local reporting needs.
Drive adoption of reporting solutions and help teams develop new ways of working.
(…and there’s always space to explore what excites you.)
⚜️ What You’ll Experience

Flexibility: We encourage a hybrid setup, but there are no mandatory office days. You decide when to come in and how to manage your time.
