About Branch
Branch is a global fintech company using technology and data to expand access to financial services. Data plays a critical role in how we acquire customers, deliver products, manage operations, and make business decisions.

We are looking for a Head of Data Reporting & Analytics to build and scale our non-credit Data & Analytics function in India. This leader will be responsible for making business data reliable, accessible, and actionable, while developing a high-impact analytics team that helps drive growth, efficiency, and profitability across the organisation.

The Role
This is a leadership role spanning two complementary areas: Data Reporting & Experience and Business Analytics.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical thinking, technical depth, business acumen, and people leadership. They should be equally comfortable building scalable data infrastructure, challenging business assumptions with data, and partnering with senior leaders to translate insights into action.

1. Data Reporting & Experience

  • Build a trusted source of truth: Establish standardised business metrics, consistent definitions, and reliable reporting across the organisation.
  • Own the reporting ecosystem: Develop and scale dashboards, leadership reports, business reviews, and function-specific reporting across Growth, Marketing, Product, Operations, Finance, and other teams.
  • Improve data reliability and timeliness: Build robust monitoring, data quality checks, reconciliation mechanisms, and alerts to proactively identify anomalies and reporting issues.
  • Drive automation and self-service: Reduce manual reporting and dependency on individual analysts by building reusable data models, automated reporting workflows, and intuitive self-service analytics.
  • Improve the data experience: Ensure stakeholders have access to accurate, relevant, timely, and easy-to-understand information, with clear insights and actionables rather than just raw numbers.
  • Build scalable foundations: Strengthen data models, metric definitions, documentation, and reporting architecture to support the organisation's evolving business needs.

2. Business Analytics & Insights

  • Drive business performance: Partner with functional leaders to identify growth opportunities, operational inefficiencies, conversion bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop a proactive analytics function: Move beyond reactive requests to independently identify business problems, generate hypotheses, and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Own funnel and cohort analytics: Analyse customer journeys, acquisition channels, conversion, activation, retention, repeat usage, unit economics, and customer lifetime value.
  • Enable data-driven decision-making: Support business planning, experimentation, campaign evaluation, product decisions, and performance reviews through rigorous analysis.
  • Measure business impact: Establish frameworks to evaluate initiatives against business outcomes, including growth, cost efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Partner across functions: Work closely with Marketing, Growth, Product, Operations, Finance, and leadership to translate business priorities into analytical roadmaps and measurable outcomes.

3. AI, Automation & Analytics Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to use AI, advanced analytics, and automation to improve reporting efficiency, accelerate insight generation, and enable better business decisions.
  • Build practical AI-powered workflows for metric monitoring, anomaly detection, business performance explanations, and insight delivery.
  • Encourage experimentation with emerging tools and technologies while maintaining appropriate standards for data quality, governance, security, and reliability.
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement in how data is produced, analysed, communicated, and consumed across the organisation.

4. Team & Function Leadership

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team spanning reporting, business analytics, and relevant functional analytics specialisations.
  • Establish clear ownership, priorities, goals, and success metrics for individuals and the overall function.
  • Balance immediate business requirements with foundational, long-term initiatives that improve scalability and analytical maturity.
  • Develop strong business partners who understand their stakeholders' priorities and proactively drive outcomes.
  • Build effective operating rhythms for planning, prioritisation, project reviews, stakeholder engagement, and performance management.
  • Raise the bar on analytical rigour, communication, problem-solving, execution, and ownership.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or related analytical roles, with meaningful leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building or scaling a reporting and analytics function in a fast-paced, data-intensive organisation.
  • Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of data warehousing, data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience building automated reporting systems, KPI dashboards, data quality frameworks, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Strong business understanding, with the ability to connect analytical findings to commercial outcomes and operational decisions.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Proven ability to hire, develop, and lead analytical teams, establish priorities, and deliver through others.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to simplify complex analyses for non-technical audiences.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in fintech, digital lending, or other high-growth, data-intensive businesses.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Metabase, or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience with customer funnel analytics, cohort analysis, attribution, customer lifetime value, experimentation, and unit economics.
  • Practical exposure to AI-powered analytics, workflow automation, and intelligent monitoring systems.
  • Experience building analytics capabilities from the ground up and subsequently scaling them.

Benefits of Joining

  • Competitive salary and equity package
  • Fast-paced, collaborative, and high-autonomy work culture
  • Hybrid work setup designed for flexibility and work-life balance
  • Fully paid group medical insurance and personal accident insurance
  • Generous paid time off, plus company-declared public holidays
  • Fully paid parental leave for fathers and non-birthing parents (12 weeks), in addition to 26 weeks of statutory maternity leave
  • Monthly WFH stipend, along with a one-time home office setup budget
  • $500 annual professional development budget
  • Quarterly social meet-ups and sponsored monthly team lunches

We’re looking for more than just qualifications -- if you’re unsure that you meet the criteria but identify with our vision of providing equal opportunity to everyone to access financial services, please do not hesitate to apply!
