Raise the bar. Build the culture. Ship with confidence.
We're looking for an exceptional Head of Engineering to join our product leadership team.
We want a technical leader who leads from the front — someone with genuine depth who loves building software, thrives on solving hard problems, and gets real satisfaction from helping engineers around them grow and do the best work of their careers.
You'll be joining a team with strong foundations and real ambition. You'll have the freedom to shape how we build software, set the standards we hold ourselves to, and take us to the next level as an engineering organisation. This is a role for someone who wants to leave a lasting mark — on the team, the codebase, and the culture.
This is a rare opportunity to have real ownership. If you see something that could be better, you'll have the support and autonomy to make it happen.
You'll have real influence, real autonomy, and the full support of leadership. You'll work alongside an empowered product team, tackle meaningful technical challenges, and have the freedom to introduce modern engineering practices and AI-powered ways of working.
If you're excited by the opportunity to help a talented team do the best work of their careers — we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do
- Lead and inspire the engineering team through technical excellence, setting a clear and visible standard for what great looks like.
- Stay hands-on with code, architecture and technical design — close enough to the work to give guidance that's genuinely useful, not just directional.
- Build a culture of deep ownership, where engineers connect their work to business outcomes and take pride in solving problems at the root, not just at the surface.
- Lead our transition to continuous delivery — you've done this before and know the sequencing: test coverage, trunk-based development, feature flags, deployment pipelines and monitoring.
- Embed quality into how the team works day-to-day, building the practices, tooling and review culture that make great software the default.
- Coach and mentor engineers with directness and care — helping them understand why something is the right approach, so they grow with every piece of feedback.
- Champion an AI-first approach to development, embedding AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle and helping the team unlock the productivity gains that come with them.
- Drive step-change improvements in engineering velocity through AI, automation and modern tooling — and bring the team with you.
- Partner closely with Product to turn ambitious ideas into outstanding software.
What we're looking for
- You've built and developed high-performing engineering teams before and can speak concretely about how — the culture you shaped, the standards you set, the engineers you grew.
- You're technically deep enough to review code meaningfully, challenge architectural decisions, and guide engineers towards solutions that are right, not just working.
- You lead through coaching and high expectations — engineers improve because of the bar you set and the way you help them reach it.
- You have real, hands-on experience shipping continuous delivery in practice: the full pipeline, the cultural shift, and the sequencing to get a team there without burning the house down.
- You have an AI-first mindset, already use AI extensively in your own work, and know how to bring a team along — not by mandating tools, but by demonstrating what's possible.
- You give clear, constructive feedback and have the confidence to hold people to a high standard with warmth and respect.
- You care about business outcomes, not just engineering craft — and you help your team make that connection too.
Success in your first year
Within your first 12 months, you'll have:- Established clear engineering standards and built a culture where the team takes genuine pride in holding itself to them.
- Helped engineers think more deeply about the problems they're solving — connecting their work to business outcomes, not just technical requirements.
- Made meaningful progress on our journey to continuous delivery, with the tooling, practices and team confidence to sustain it.
- Established engineering as a reliable, trusted partner to the wider business.
- Embedded AI into everyday engineering workflows, with a measurable improvement in the team's pace and output.
- Become a respected technical leader and mentor across the engineering team, and a valued partner to Product.
Why join us?
We're ambitious about what our engineering team can achieve, and we're looking for the right leader to help us get there. This is a chance to help shape what our engineering organisation looks and feels like at its best — the culture, the practices, and the standard we hold ourselves to.You'll have real influence, real autonomy, and the full support of leadership. You'll work alongside an empowered product team, tackle meaningful technical challenges, and have the freedom to introduce modern engineering practices and AI-powered ways of working.
If you're excited by the opportunity to help a talented team do the best work of their careers — we'd love to hear from you.
