Head of Finance (FinTech) Lead financial strategy and operations to accelerate growth in a dynamic payment service provider 🚀 Apply in 2 min About the Client FinTech company is expanding its portfolio of payment projects, and we are looking for a hands-on Head of Finance to take ownership of financial control, reconciliation, reporting, treasury, and financial planning across multiple projects and entities. This is a senior role for someone who understands how money moves within a payments business and is comfortable building scalable financial processes in a fast-paced environment. Role Overview As Head of Finance, you will take ownership of financial control and reconciliation across the company’s payment projects. A key part of the role will be reconciling transactions and settlements between merchants, acquirers, payment service providers, and alternative payment method providers. You should understand payment concepts such as settlement cycles, processing fees, rolling reserves, refunds, chargebacks, and multi-currency flows. You will also prepare management reports, manage P&L across the project portfolio, and help the company build scalable financial and reporting processes. Key Responsibilities Own end-to-end reconciliation across merchants, acquirers, PSPs, payment processors, and APM providers. Reconcile transaction data, settlements, fees, commissions, rolling reserves, refunds, chargebacks, and other payment-related financial flows. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure that payment data is reflected correctly across internal systems and external provider statements. Take ownership of P&L across the company’s projects and product lines. Prepare regular management reports, forecasts, cash-flow reports, and variance analyses. Build and maintain financial models and unit economics for individual projects and payment products. Manage liquidity planning, multi-currency accounts, and settlement timing. Improve and automate financial, reconciliation, and internal reporting processes. Develop appropriate financial controls as the company grows. Work with banks, acquirers, PSPs, and other payment partners on settlement terms, fees, reserves, and reconciliation issues. Support management with clear financial analysis and practical recommendations. Evaluate and implement financial, reconciliation, reporting, or BI systems that can reduce manual work and improve data accuracy. Build a finance team in the future as the business expands. Requirements 3+ years' experience in a payments company, payment aggregator, PSP, acquirer, EMI, PI, or another payment-focused FinTech business. Strong hands-on experience with payment reconciliation involving merchants, acquirers, PSPs, processors, or APM providers. Practical understanding of payment flows, settlement cycles, processing fees, rolling reserves, refunds, chargebacks, and reconciliation discrepancies. Experience preparing financial and management reports. Strong P&L ownership, financial analysis, forecasting, and cash-flow management skills. Ability to work with large volumes of financial and transaction data. Fluency in Russian and English is required. Strong Advantage Experience working with financial, reconciliation, accounting, ERP, or BI systems in addition to Excel. Experience automating or optimising reconciliation, financial reporting, or financial-control processes. Experience improving financial and accounting workflows across several projects, entities, currencies, or payment providers. Knowledge of card acquiring and alternative payment methods. Experience working directly with banks, card schemes, acquirers, payment processors, or PSPs. Key Soft Skills Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to explain financial information clearly to management and non-finance stakeholders. Comfortable working in a growing company where processes are still being developed.
