Blink is a specialist SEO and PPC agency for large-catalogue Shopify stores. We work with eCommerce brands where the size and depth of the catalogue is the real product - several hundred SKUs or often much more, usually £5m or more in revenue, across categories such as homeware, beauty, fashion, lighting and gifting.

Our work on product data, taxonomy and AI search is genuinely market-leading. Many of our clients have been with us for more than 5 years, and the majority of new business comes through referrals. As Head of Sales, you’d start with a strong product and a continuous focus on innovation.

The role

We’re looking for a Head of Sales to own new business at Blink - the pipeline, the pitches and the commercial conversations from beginning to end. It is a senior, hands-on role.

What you’ll own

The new business pipeline. Inbound enquiries, referrals and outbound. You would decide where your time goes, qualify prospects early, and keep the pipeline accurate enough for the directors to forecast from.

• Discovery and pitching. You would lead first conversations with founders and eCommerce directors, work out what is commercially at stake for them, and bring in our heads of SEO and PPC to build the audit and proposal.

• Pricing and scoping. Working with the delivery team so that what we sell is something we can deliver well and profitably.

• Partner and referral channels. Referrals already bring in most of our new business, so you would build on those relationships and develop new ones across the Shopify ecosystem - partner agencies, platforms and apps.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has closed retained agency work in SEO, PPC or performance marketing, ideally with eCommerce brands

• Can hold a commercial conversation with a founder or eCommerce manager about search knowing

• Generates their own pipeline, rather than only converting inbound leads and referrals

• Writes clearly. Most of our proposals and follow-up happen by email, document or Notion

• Is organised and accountable. You would be managing several prospects, proposals and deadlines at once. That means working out which opportunity will make the most difference and focusing on that first, following through on what you said you would do, keeping prospects and colleagues informed, and taking responsibility for the numbers

Shopify experience is useful but not essential. Experience selling agency services on retainer is closer to essential.

Package

• Competitive base salary, plus uncapped commission

• Four day week, 32 hours. Many of the team work Monday to Thursday by convention, but there is no fixed daily start or finish - there is flexibility to work around childcare, for example

• Hybrid or remote. Norwich office available; remote-first also an option

• 24 days holiday, which is six weeks at our four-day week

• The office closes between Christmas and New Year, and those days do not come out of your holiday allowance

• Health Shield health cash plan, which includes money back on dental, optical, physiotherapy and wellbeing treatments, a 24/7 counselling helpline, remote GP appointments, and up to eight counselling or CBT sessions a year outside the normal budget. Children under 18 can be added at no extra cost

• Enhanced parental leave. Maternity and adoption pay at eight weeks full and twelve weeks half after probation, rising to sixteen weeks full and twelve half after 12 months. Paternity at four weeks on full pay after probation, against a statutory two weeks at the statutory rate

• Enhanced sick pay. Six weeks at full pay and six at half after probation, doubling to twelve and twelve after two years

• Pension through NEST, with the employer contribution calculated on your whole salary rather than the statutory banded earnings, and salary sacrifice available if you want it
