Role Description The Head of Hardware Engineering is a part-time, remote role responsible for leading the design, development, and validation of hardware solutions that support Myrader Ltd’s products and services. This position oversees the hardware engineering roadmap, translating business requirements into robust technical architectures and specifications. Day-to-day activities include managing hardware design projects, reviewing schematics and layouts, coordinating prototyping and testing, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, guiding selection of components and vendors, and implementing quality assurance processes for hardware deliverables. The Head of Hardware Engineering also mentors engineering contributors, establishes best practices, and continually improves hardware performance, reliability, and scalability.

Qualifications

• Strong hardware engineering background, including experience with electronic circuit design, PCB development, and embedded systems.
• Proficiency in hardware design tools and workflows (e.g., schematic capture, layout software, simulation, and version control).
• Experience leading engineering teams or projects, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate remote collaboration.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and hardware testing methodologies.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications and system architectures that support product and market objectives.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills, with clear written and verbal communication.
• Comfort working in a part-time, remote capacity, with strong self-management and accountability.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience considered.
• Experience with hardware solutions for data collection, sensing, or communications in emerging markets is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Nigerian or similar developing-market operating environments is beneficial but not required.
