Brief description of the OU / position / role:
This position holder represents the key function for all Volkswagen Group powertrain topics in Region China. It acts as a powerful interface among all brands in Europe (especially VW AG and Audi AG), Beijing (other divisions/departments within VGC and Audi China) and our Joint Ventures (SVW, FAW-VW, VW Anhui, Audi FAW NEV Company) and Component plants in China for all Powertrain technologies (ICE Hybrid/Conventional Gearbox/Thermal Management System).
Tasks:
Managing personnel:
- Management, coordination and approval BMG & K-Release modules developed by OE, BMG for ICE Hybrid, Conventional Gearbox, Thermal Management System.
- Management of strategy, roadmap, local development, project management of ICE Hybrid, Conventional Gearbox, Thermal Management System incl. product release.
- Accountability for work results and compliance with internal requirements ensures fulfillment of legal obligations.
- Management, planing, control and track goals (e.B. costs, deadlines, technology, quality)
- Disciplinary management/leadership of the employees of the OE, as well as creation of the framework conditions for fulfillment of predetermined tasks.
- Creation of framework conditions for continuous further development and improvement of processes and their binding anchoring in the regulatory world.
- Steering JV cooperation / alignments with brands and VW Group of local ICE Hybrid development and modules technology and release development tasks done by JVs.
- Influence and Implementation of company vision and strategy and set targets and objectives of the department accordingly.
- Implement "Entwicklungsgemeinschaft" for ICE / Hybrid Powertrain development projects including take over responsibility and liability.
- Control of KPIs - economically efficient acting, cost center budget, project expenditures, development costs, HC targets, recruiting, SOPs.
- Performing individual task-related duties in accordance with the knowledge and experience of the position holder.
- Advising other people holding positions at VCIC, its subsidiaries/associate companies, or cooperating organizations upon request and in consultation with the appropriate people responsible.
Authorities:
- Management, coordination and approval BMG & K-Release modules developed by OE, BMG for ICE Hybrid, Conventional Gearbox, Thermal Management System.
- Authority of new personal in recruiting process for his department as well as department budget issues.
- Decision on acceptance and priorities of projects/tasks based on capacity and urgency. The position holder decides about resources / budget / timelines / technical measures / tasks.
- Decision about ratings regarding nomination of external companies.
- Decision about Department strategy and direction of electrification strategy region China.
- Determination and Decision of technical concepts in line with regional laws, and regulations as well as applicable VW policies to ensure tech. competitiveness and cost of the modules of engine.
- Signature authority is provided in the applicable directories specified in respective Company Policy (VCIC: No.4 VCIC Signature Authorization, Policy No.4-1 External Signature Authorization and Representation of Company.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the strategy, development of powertrain ICE, Hybrid and BEV (AUDI) also the modules.
- Guarantee of compliance with laws, regulations and standards, specifications from target catalogue and
specifications with a legal character and internal company guidelines for the above-office tasks. - Ensuring uniform development processes and approval criteria for various powertrain modules suppliers.
- Process responsibility for the cross-brand early alignment and product releases in global development.
- Guarantee of KPIs - cost competitiveness of powertrain, economically efficient acting, cost center budget, project expenditures, development costs, HC targets, recruiting, SOPs …
