As the Head of People reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you'll lead and grow Baptist World Aid’s people and volunteer strategies, contribute to organisational wide initiatives across 80 employees and 15 plus volunteers. Join at an exciting time, with scope to shape key people and culture processes as we develop our newly introduced HRIS – Employment Hero and build on a solid people and culture foundation. This role is based in Sydney with a broad remit, leading workforce planning, organisational design and change, employee and industrial relations, recruitment and retention, leadership development, engagement and wellbeing, remuneration, WHS and psychosocial safety, people systems and policies and volunteer management. This role will coach and support our managers and leads and be a trusted advisor who can provide practical, courageous and considered advice on complex organisational decisions. They will bring a strong understanding of people risk and governance.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has
- Alignment with the vision, mission and values of Baptist World Aid Australia
- Experience working in a standalone senior HR/P&C management role reporting to the CEO/and/or Executive.
- Highly relational leader able to build trust and the ability to influence and challenge when required
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and legislation – including awards, WH&S and the Fair work act
- Experience in establishing and driving strategy and leads delivery of organisational projects aligned to the Strategic plan
- Provides judgement and problem solving in complex situations
- Excellent Communication skills both written and oral, and able to shape organisational communication
- Strong employee and industrial relations capability and are comfortable navigating complex and sensitive matters including conflicts, grievances and performance management matters.
- Experience working in a NFP sector
- Experience in International Aid and Development
- Experience in Clifton Strengths and or other HR tools
- Experience in Employment Hero
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources
