Looking for your next challenge or an opportunity to make a meaningful impact over a defined period? This 12-month contract offers the chance to bring your expertise to Good Energy, make a difference from day one and support our mission to create a cleaner, greener future.
No day will be the same - here are some of the highlights
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Procurement to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract, helping us strengthen our supply chain, build strong supplier partnerships and play a part in creating a greener, more sustainable future.
In this role you’ll provide strategic leadership across our solar services and supply divisions, ensuring we maximise commercial value, strengthen supplier relationships and support the successful delivery of our business objectives.
Working closely with two Managing Directors and their Senior Leadership Teams, you’ll bring strong commercial insight, procurement expertise and strategic direction to the business. You’ll lead and empower our procurement teams, setting the direction while enabling our managers to drive day-to-day operations.
This is a high-impact leadership role focused on stakeholder engagement, commercial decision-making and continuous improvement, rather than transactional purchasing. You’ll play a key role in shaping procurement strategy, managing supplier risk, securing best value across direct and indirect spend, and ensuring our supply chain supports the delivery of renewable energy solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy and Leadership: Develop and deliver procurement strategies across direct and indirect spend, aligned with business objectives, commercial performance and operational requirements.
- Solar Services Procurement: Lead the strategic procurement approach for materials and services supporting renewable energy installations, ensuring security of supply, effective stock management and value for money.
- Supply Procurement: Provide procurement expertise and guidance across the wider Group, supporting sourcing activity, tendering, contract reviews and commercial negotiations.
- Commercial Value and Cost Optimisation: Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve supplier value, manage risk and leverage Group-wide purchasing opportunities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships with MDs, senior leaders and cross-functional teams, providing constructive challenge and influencing key commercial decisions.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Lead strategic supplier relationships, negotiate complex commercial agreements, monitor performance and resolve escalated issues, while identifying opportunities for innovation and added value.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, coach, mentor and empower procurement managers and their teams, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring clear accountability across the function.
- Governance and Best Practice: Ensure procurement activity meets company policies, governance standards and contractual obligations, driving consistency and continuous improvement across the business.
- Business Planning and Operational Delivery: Work closely with Operations, Technical, Finance and other business functions to align procurement plans with demand, support business priorities and maintain operational continuity.
- Risk and Sustainability: Strengthen supply chain resilience, mitigate commercial and supplier risks, and support relevant sustainability and ESG initiatives.

You’ll be comfortable working with senior leaders, influencing commercial decisions and empowering teams to deliver their best. Collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement and strong supplier partnerships are key.
This is a great opportunity to bring your expertise to Good Energy, helping strengthen our supply chain and support our mission to create a greener, more sustainable future.
