About Bruno

Bruno is the local-first, Git-native API client trusted by more than 4 million developers worldwide. From startups to Fortune 500 companies, engineering teams use Bruno to build, test, and collaborate on APIs without the complexity, cost, or security concerns of cloud-first tools.

We're building beyond the API client, expanding into API collaboration, documentation, registries, and enterprise developer workflows.

We have a product developers already love, a passionate open-source community, and an ambitious roadmap. We're looking for someone to help define what comes next.

About the Role

We're looking for a product leader who is still a builder at heart.

Someone who has strong opinions about what makes a great developer product, understands the technical details behind it, and enjoys working closely with engineers to bring ideas to life.

You'll lead Bruno's product direction, work closely with the founders and engineering leadership, and develop a growing team of Product Managers.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage roadmaps from a distance. We want someone comfortable opening the product, reproducing bugs, talking to developers, challenging assumptions, writing specifications, and getting into the weeds with engineering.

You'll need to balance the needs of our open-source community, individual developers, and enterprise customers while keeping Bruno simple, focused, and enjoyable to use.

We value strong opinions, but we expect them to be challenged. You'll need the judgment to make difficult trade-offs, the curiosity to understand problems firsthand, and the ability to turn ambitious ideas into products that actually ship.

What You'll Do

  • Own product strategy and roadmap: define where Bruno should go, what we should build, and equally importantly, what we should not build.

  • Set a high bar for product quality, developer experience, usability, simplicity, and craftsmanship.

  • Lead and develop the PM team: coach Product Managers, improve product thinking, and build a team capable of independently owning meaningful product areas.

  • Stay close to developers: regularly engage with users, understand their workflows, and identify problems worth solving.

  • Partner deeply with Engineering to work through technical trade-offs, architecture, feasibility, and scope.

  • Turn ambiguity into clear product decisions, specifications, priorities, and measurable outcomes.

  • Balance long-term product bets with consistent execution and delivery.

  • Use product analytics, customer feedback, market understanding, and judgment to make informed decisions.

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to understand customer needs, support product-led growth, and inform pricing and packaging decisions.

  • Work directly with the founders to challenge assumptions, align on priorities, and build a strong product culture.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in developer tools, infrastructure, or technical platforms.

  • Strong technical depth across APIs, Git, networking, developer workflows, and system architecture.

  • Exceptional product judgment and a strong instinct for simplicity and developer experience.

  • A builder's mindset: you enjoy prototyping, experimenting, and getting hands-on with products.

  • A proven track record of taking meaningful products from idea to launch, with measurable results.

  • Deep developer empathy and a genuine understanding of how developers work.

  • Strong prioritization skills and the conviction to say no to ideas that don't move the product forward.

  • Excellent written communication and the ability to bring clarity to ambiguous problems.

  • Opinionated but low-ego, comfortable challenging ideas and changing your mind when the evidence warrants it.

  • Experience leading and mentoring Product Managers while raising the quality of product thinking.

  • Comfortable working closely with founders in a fast-paced startup environment.

Bonus Points

  • Experience building products at companies such as GitHub, GitLab, Docker, HashiCorp, or similar developer-focused companies.

  • Contributions to open-source projects or experience working with open-source communities.

  • Experience with product-led growth, developer adoption, or monetization of developer tools.

  • Experience balancing the needs of individual developers and enterprise customers.

  • Previous experience as a software engineer.

Why Join Bruno?

  • Shape the future of a product already used by more than 4 million developers worldwide.

  • Real ownership over product direction, strategy, and execution.

  • Work directly with founders and a strong engineering team that values craftsmanship and technical excellence.

  • Build in the open alongside a passionate and growing open-source community.

  • Lead and develop a growing product team while staying close to the craft of building great products.

  • Join a fast-growing, well-funded company with significant opportunities ahead.

  • Competitive salary, equity, and benefits.
