Head of Product Design

We're making online protection simple enough for millions of people to trust without a second thought, and great design is how we get there. We are looking for a Head of Product Design who combines exceptional craft with strong product thinking and business acumen. You will lead our product design team, raise the bar for quality and seniority, and make sure design is a true strategic partner in shaping a growing cybersecurity product ecosystem.

If you want to:

• Co-create the product design vision alongside product leadership, and own how it shows up in consistent, high-quality experiences across Surfshark;

• Lead, grow and mentor a team of product designers, building a culture of craft, ownership and honest critique;

• Sit as an equal voice in product decisions, working closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Data and Marketing from first idea to launch;

• Make the experience feel seamless across every app and solution we build;

• Shape design processes so the team moves fast without cutting corners on quality;

• Tie design work to real outcomes, using data, research and experimentation to show its impact on the metrics that matter.

And you can check off:

• Proven experience in product design, including leading and managing design teams in a product-led company;

• Strong product and systems thinking: you can make sense of messy, complex problems and turn them into clear design direction and validated solutions;

• A natural pull toward experimentation, working through hypotheses, A/B tests and data-driven iteration;

• Proven ability to bring AI into how a team works, through experimentation, clear practices and open knowledge sharing, while thinking hard about what AI means for users, not just internal workflows;

• A track record of hiring, coaching and keeping great designers, and inspiring them to do their best work;

• Experience building and scaling design systems and design operations;

• Comfort using data, research and experimentation to inform decisions;

• Clear communication and the confidence to present and defend ideas, honestly and plainly, to technical, non-technical and executive audiences;

• A growth mindset, comfort with ambiguity, and a strong sense of ownership.

Bonus points if you:

• Have worked in cybersecurity or privacy, where trust and clarity are everything;

• Know subscription products and how retention really works;

• Have designed multi-product ecosystems or bundles, not just single apps.
