Job Title
Head of Product & Design, APACJob Description
So, who are we?
IG Group is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.4m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn’t pivot to innovation; it’s how we’ve always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that’s rare in established businesses.
The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we’ll give you the platform to define what comes next.
Join us at IG – the future gets built here.
Your Team:
- Reports to the Managing Director, APAC, with a place on the regional leadership team
- Location: Singapore | Permanent, Full-Time
IG APAC’s product and design organization sits within the region. The country product leads for Australia, Japan, Singapore and Emerging Markets report into this role, together with the regional design team and UX research. You will build out the Singapore product hub, set the operating model, raise the bar on craft and delivery, and grow the bench that carries the region’s product forward. A dedicated APAC engineering team and the larger global engineering organization are among your most important delivery partners.
Your role in the Team’s Success:
We’re looking for a senior product and design leader to own IG’s product across the APAC region: to set the vision, own the roadmap, lead a large product and design organisation, and make the product genuinely loved by clients in every market. This role owns what gets built across Australia, Japan, Singapore and Emerging Markets, from the moment a client signs up to the way they fund, trade and keep coming back.
The mandate is broad and it lasts: keep the product deeply relevant to each market, solve the hard problems in onboarding, funding and the client lifecycle, and ship the new products that win clients. In the near term that includes bringing the markets onto a single, mobile-first platform and consolidating the retail and advanced-trader experiences into one, but this role reaches well beyond any single programme.
This is a senior, high-ownership seat with a large team reporting into it, a direct line to the Managing Director, APAC, and a place on the regional leadership team. It will suit someone who has built and led product and design for regulated financial products at scale, across several distinct markets, and who understands that winning in Asia is as much about local relevance as it is about a great core platform.
APAC is growing hard, across four very different markets, and product now sits within the region, reporting to the Managing Director, APAC. That needs one senior owner for product and design across APAC: someone who owns the roadmap and the priorities, leads a large multi-market team, keeps the product locally relevant everywhere it runs, solves the hardest problems in onboarding, funding and the client lifecycle, and ships the new products that win clients. This is the seat that owns what gets built across the region and whether clients love it.
This is a senior seat with real ownership: product and design for an entire region, a large multi-market team to lead and build, an aggressive growth agenda to ship against, and a direct line to the Managing Director, APAC. It’s demanding, fast and frequently ambiguous, and it offers something genuinely rare: the chance to own what gets built across APAC, keep it deeply relevant in every market, and prove it with clients. If that’s the mandate you’ve been waiting for, we should talk.
What you’ll do:
- Product strategy and the APAC roadmap. Own the product vision, strategy and roadmap across all four APAC markets. Decide what gets built and why, prioritize across regulatory constraints, technical feasibility, client needs and commercial goals, and carry accountability for the product outcome across the region. In the near term the roadmap’s single biggest programme is bringing every market onto one platform, but the mandate reaches well beyond it. Own the North Star and the product metrics that matter, and track performance after every launch.
- Product localisation across the region. Asia is not one market. Own how the product is localized for each one: the languages, the payment behaviours, the regulatory realities and the client expectations that differ sharply between Australia, Japan, Singapore and our emerging markets. Make the constant call between a shared core platform and deliberate, market-specific customization, and hold the bar for products that feel local, not translated.
- Design, research and the client experience. This is a product and design leadership role. Own product design, user experience and UX research across APAC, build and lead the design and research function, and set the bar for an experience clients genuinely love, from first-run onboarding through to daily use. Ground product decisions in real client research, not assumptions.
- Onboarding, KYC, funding and the client lifecycle. Own the highest-leverage problems in the funnel across every market: onboarding and KYC that satisfy varied and demanding regulators while keeping conversion high, and funding that works the way clients in each market actually move money. In several markets funding is the single biggest point of drop-off, so getting it right is a direct lever on growth. Own activation, retention and reactivation across the whole lifecycle.
- New products and growth. Own the pipeline of new propositions across the region, from reduced-spread trading and options to the retail crypto and tokenisation propositions, deciding what to build, for which market, and in what sequence. Partner closely with Marketing so growth campaigns convert and the experience keeps clients active, and help reinvigorate performance in our largest and most established markets as well as entering new ones.
- A large product and design organisation. Build, lead and develop the APAC product and design organisation. The country product leads for Australia, Japan, Singapore and Emerging Markets report into this role, together with the regional design team and UX research. Build out the Singapore product hub, set the operating model, raise the bar on craft and delivery, and grow the bench that carries the region’s product forward.
- Partnership with the global product team. Work closely with the global product leadership team so that what APAC builds lines up with the wider, consolidated product roadmap. Carry the region’s markets and priorities into global product decisions, pull the best of the global platform into APAC, and keep the region and the centre moving together rather than apart.
- APAC and global engineering. A dedicated APAC engineering team and the larger global engineering organisation are among your most important delivery partners. Translate the roadmap into clear requirements, align on sequencing and priorities across both teams, and keep delivery moving across multiple regulated entities and markets at once.
- Partnership with Commercial and the market heads. Build a strong partnership with the Head of Commercial and Projects, and work closely with the four market heads who each run their own business. You own the product roadmap and its sequencing; keep it pulling in the same direction as the commercial plan, with the reality of each market built into every product decision.
What You’ll Need:
- You’ve built and led product at scale for regulated digital financial products, whether at a crypto exchange, fintech, digital bank, payments or trading business, and you’ve owned outcomes across several distinct markets, not just features in one.
- You think commercially and care about monetisation as much as experience, and you have hands-on depth in the problems at the heart of this role: onboarding and KYC, funding and payment rails, compliance-driven product design, and growth.
- This is a product and design leadership role, so you’ve either owned design and UX research directly or led them with real craft and conviction, and you hold a high bar for how a product looks, feels and works.
- You’ve built and led large, multi-market teams, you know how to set an operating model that keeps a distributed organisation moving, and you’ve built or scaled a product hub before.
- You understand that winning in Asia turns on local relevance. You have genuine depth across the local landscape, the markets, regulators, payment behaviours and client expectations, and you’ve localised products for markets that differ sharply from one another.
- You’re used to working as part of a global product organisation and alongside both regional and central engineering teams, aligning what you build with a wider platform and roadmap.
- You’ve navigated MAS or equivalent regulators as a product owner, not from a distance.
- Experience running platform consolidations or migrations is useful given the near-term roadmap, and experience with CFDs or leveraged products will shorten your ramp, though neither is essential.
