HEAD OF QUALITY AND ENGINEERING

This is not a role for someone who simply wants to maintain the status quo.

You will lead our Engineering and Quality Assurance departments and build a strong Quality Management function that helps the organization grow smarter, faster and stronger. You'll be part of the site leadership team, reporting directly to the Managing Director and shaping decisions that have a direct impact on our performance, our customers and our future.

TASKS:

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Engineering and Quality Assurance departments while establishing a credible, trusted and business-focused Quality Management Department.
• Translate business strategy into clear priorities, measurable objectives and actionable roadmaps across Engineering and Quality Management.
• Foster a high-performance environment in which teams have clear expectations, the right capabilities and tools, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
• Drive engineering excellence through robust processes, effective industrialization, systematic technical problem-solving and reliable technical data management.
• Embed quality into products and processes by implementing effective preventive quality assurance systems, standards and practices.
• Develop and maintain a resilient Quality Management System that ensures compliance and strengthens confidence among customers, auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, productivity, delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
• Promote structured problem-solving, data-driven decision-making and the sustainable elimination of root causes.
• Develop leadership capabilities, strengthen organizational effectiveness and cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous learning.
• Represent the function professionally and effectively in interactions with customers, auditors, senior management and international PLANSEE and CERATIZIT stakeholders.
• Provide transparent performance insights, sound analyses and well-founded recommendations to support effective business decision-making.

REQUIREMENTS:

• University degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a comparable technical discipline.
• Several years of relevant professional experience in Engineering and/or Quality within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams and deliver sustainable results.
• Comprehensive knowledge of quality management principles, risk management, structured problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
• Proven experience in developing or transforming organizations, processes and operating models.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
• Strong command of English; proficiency in German and Bulgarian is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence effectively across functions and organizational levels.
• Pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset, strong customer focus and the ability to achieve impact through people and collaboration.
