This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the Group's risk management and internal audit agenda, operating at a senior level with direct access to the Group Chief Financial Officer.

With responsibility across a global organisation, you will play a key role in strengthening the control environment, providing independent assurance and helping shape strategic business decisions. This is a highly visible position offering the opportunity to influence at Board level and make a tangible difference to the ongoing success of the business.

The Role – Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Group CFO, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering the Group Internal Audit and Risk Plan, ensuring a risk-based approach focused on strengthening internal controls and improving operational effectiveness.
  • Planning and undertaking risk-based audit reviews across financial, operational, commercial and regulatory compliance areas.
  • Identifying control weaknesses, assessing business exposure and providing practical, commercially focused recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Owning and maintaining the Group Strategic Risk Register and Corporate Risk Register, ensuring key risks are appropriately identified, assessed and monitored.
  • Monitoring management action plans and holding stakeholders accountable for implementing agreed improvements and addressing identified risks.
  • Preparing and presenting clear, concise audit findings, risk assessments and recommendations to the Group CFO and senior leadership team.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the global business, ensuring risk considerations are embedded into key projects, business initiatives and operational decisions.
  • Maintaining awareness of emerging risks, control developments and industry trends, ensuring the Group's approach to risk and assurance remains effective and relevant.

About You – Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A proven track record in a senior Risk and Internal Audit leadership position, ideally within a complex, multi-site or international organisation.
  • Experience of developing and delivering risk-based internal audit programmes across multiple countries and business operations.
  • A strong understanding of internal control frameworks, audit methodologies, corporate governance and enterprise risk management.
  • The ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior management and Board-level executives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into clear, practical and commercially focused recommendations.
  • The confidence and independence to challenge constructively, whilst building effective working relationships across the organisation.
  • Experience overseeing the full audit lifecycle, from planning and execution through to reporting, follow-up and implementation of corrective actions.

Previous experience within one or more of the following sectors is essential:

Engineering | Automotive | Manufacturing | Construction | Industrial Services

What's in it for You?

  • Competitive salary of £80,000–£90,000, dependent on experience.
  • Company car or car allowance.
  • Performance-related bonus.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Predominantly remote working, with some UK and international travel.
  • The opportunity to join a successful global business at an exciting time of change and growth.
  • A highly visible, influential position with direct exposure to the Group CFO and the opportunity to contribute to Board-level decision-making.
  • Genuine scope to shape and develop the Group's risk and internal audit function, leaving your mark on the organisation.
  • Excellent opportunities for continued professional and career development.
