Bonus is a real estate technology company on a mission to help everyday people build financial security and long-term wealth through real estate and turnkey investment solutions. For generations, homeownership has been one of the most reliable ways for American families to build long-term wealth. But every time life requires a move, the current system forces homeowners to sell their most valuable asset and walk away from its future growth. Bonus is pioneering a new category: a Home Appreciation Partnership (HAP) that lets homeowners cash out their equity, move into their next chapter, and still share in the future appreciation of the home they're leaving behind. The result is a passive wealth-building instrument for the middle class. More broadly, we are building solutions to equip the average American family with generational tools historically reserved for the wealthy, and be the real estate financial advisor who helps homeowners make the smartest decision possible with the home equity they’ve built.

We're building a category defining company in real estate wealth management. We’ve earned a 4.8 Trustpilot rating and an A+ from the BBB, a testament to the value we provide to our customers. The opportunity is significant: if just 50,000 homeowners chose to bonus their home with a HAP instead of selling, it would unlock $6B+ in immediate liquidity for American families and generate $10B+ in additional long-term wealth. Beyond that, the sky’s the limit.
Backed by Andreessen Horowitz, NextView Ventures, Solyco Capital, Alpaca VC, and Redwood Trust, we are expanding rapidly in fast-growing markets across the country. Join us in building something genuinely new in an environment where the playbook is still being written, and the people who shape it now will define the next decade of the category.

THE OPPORTUNITY
We're hiring our first Head of Sales, Home Wealth Advisory – who will build, lead, and scale our homeowner-facing sales function. You’ll own the homeowner experience from first inquiry through determining the right solution.
You'll build the unified front door we call the Home Wealth Advisor model: one consultative conversation that starts with the homeowner's situation and goals, lays out their real options with honest pros and cons, and routes them to the right product specialist – while staying their point person throughout.
This is a hands-on role first. You will personally take homeowner conversations from day one and learn the workflows and process of our multi-product solution. Over time, you'll own the function end to end: process, systems, tooling, and team if and when the business calls for one. You'd be stepping into a seat currently held by one of our founders, with direct access to him and to the rest of the leadership team.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

The homeowner conversation
  • Personally sell during this stage of the company – learn the products, refine the motion, and establish what "good" sounds like before codifying it
  • Build the Home Wealth Advisor playbook: discovery, options framing, objection handling, and consultative methodology across a multi-product set
  • Get to the real motivation early. Understanding what a homeowner is actually trying to accomplish is what keeps them from disappearing at the decision point
  • Create a culture of homeowner advocacy and delighting the customer; the recommendation is whatever is genuinely best for that family
One unified funnel
  • Own the top of funnel from inbound lead through qualification, consultation, and routing to the right product path
  • Make the pivot native rather than a save: a homeowner who isn't right for HAP should move toward a listing (or another option) as a natural next step, not a handoff to a different company
  • Build long-term nurtures for homeowners who aren't ready to transact so Bonus stays the trusted first call when their situation changes
  • Partner closely with the HAP and listing specialists on clean handoffs, and with marketing on lead quality
Speed, contact, and conversion
  • Materially improve speed-to-lead and contact rate
  • Develop scalable processes for routing, qualification, nurture, and follow-up
  • Build the forecasting, reporting, and dashboards that make funnel performance legible
  • Establish performance expectations, accountability systems, and ongoing coaching and development
Growing the function
  • Own how the function scales – consider systems and leverage before headcount
  • Evaluate and deploy AI agents and tooling against initial contact, qualification, follow-up, and nurture. Open to new approaches vs. relying on old playbooks
  • Coach, develop, and empower direct reports and relevant partners
  • Participate in external conversations that shape the function (title providers, mortgage partners, strategic partnerships) and bring what you learn back into the motion
  • If and when volume warrants it, hire and develop additional advisors. We'd expect you to have exhausted systemic leverage first

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Must-Haves
  • 5 – 10+ years in sales leadership – real estate, proptech, mortgage, home equity, financial services, wealth management, or an adjacent consumer category
  • You've sold to homeowners, or to consumers making a significant financial decision (a considered, emotional, once-in-a-decade purchase where someone has to be genuinely understood before they can be advised)
  • Experience with a specific product you were responsible for growing in a tech-forward environment
  • Comfort in the weeds, and excitement around actively building and participating in outcomes in an early stage culture. This is not a role you can run from an ivory tower. You'll be on calls, in the CRM, learning our products in detail, and engaging frequently with other leadership on critical decisions in a fast-moving environment
  • Willingness to personally carry homeowner conversations vs. just coach
  • Data fluency – you've used funnel data to find incremental improvements and you can defend a recommendation with numbers
  • A leverage-first instinct. With an increasing number of alternative paths available, ask what can be automated, agent-driven, or redesigned before turning to headcount
  • Strong understanding of sales process design, pipeline management, CRM (Salesforce), and forecasting
  • Proven experience managing and coaching individual contributors
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity at a stage where the systems and the playbook are still being built
  • Experience working remotely and effectively across time zones. Ideally comfortable on camera – webinars, recorded content, and customer-facing video are part of how we grow

Nice-to-Haves
  • Real estate domain depth. Not a requirement, but a meaningful advantage given you'd be fluent in the language and the transaction from day one and able to empathize with homeowners in ways few others would. Most valuable when it comes from a tech-forward or alternative model (iBuying, power buying, alternative brokerage, home equity) rather than traditional brokerage production on its own
    • An active real estate license is a plus
  • Professional domain experience aside, you've personally bought and sold homes and know what that experience actually feels like
  • Familiarity with multi-product sales and consultative advisory models
  • Experience at a venture-backed or category-defining business
  • A network you could eventually recruit from, if and when we get there

LOCATION & STRUCTURE
  • Remote-friendly; overlap with existing team (e.g. LA, Phoenix) a plus
  • Some travel to target markets expected
  • Small, virtual-first team; high ownership and autonomy from day one
  • Direct access to founders and real influence over how this category gets built
