Sourcing sits at the heart of that: it owns the relationships, contracts, and technology roadmaps with the supplier base that makes our products possible. About the role As Head of Sourcing, you will build and lead Nofence's sourcing and supplier commodity management capability, reporting directly to the VP Supply Chain. You'll set the overall sourcing strategy across our commodity categories, build and develop a high-performing team of commodity managers, and personally drive the most strategically important supplier relationships and negotiations – working closely with Engineering, Product, Operations, Quality, and Legal to ensure Nofence has the right suppliers, terms, and technology roadmap alignment for both new product development and reliable, cost-competitive supply of products already in the field. Key responsibilities • Own and evolve Nofence's overall sourcing and commodity strategy, aligned with product roadmap, cost, quality, and supply resilience goals. • Build, lead, and develop the sourcing/commodity management team, setting priorities and growing capability as Nofence scales. • Partner with Engineering and Product on new product development, defining and executing sourcing strategies from concept through launch, including qualifying new technology and supply partners. • Drive the source-to-contract process end to end, including cross-functional supplier qualification, onboarding, and negotiation of strategic commodities and Master Agreements – securing best-in-class terms, including IP and patents, in collaboration with Legal. • Hold overall accountability for supplier relationship management: technical, commercial, delivery, quality, and performance across the managed supply base. • Benchmark the industry and track market indicators to keep Nofence's supply base competitive and ahead of trends and risk. • Partner with Operations/Quality to resolve line stops, line alerts, and field issues from owned suppliers, and own sourcing risk assessment, mitigation, and dual-sourcing strategies. • Oversee large, complex, multi-location programmes, and continuously improve the sourcing team's processes, tools, and ways of working. • Represent Sourcing to Product, Strategy, Marketing, and Supply Chain leadership, acting as a trusted advocate for internal stakeholders in shaping commodity strategy. About you The right candidate is preferred to have the following qualifications: • Proven leadership experience in sourcing, category/commodity management, or supplier management, ideally including people leadership. • A blend of commercial acumen and engineering/technical problem-solving – comfortable with concepts and evolving specs, not just finished designs. • Strong track record in contract negotiations, including complex commercial and legal terms. • Hands-on experience across the supplier lifecycle, from technology scouting through to sustaining supply. • Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to build trust from suppliers to R&D, legal, and executive leadership. • A structured, self-starting approach – able to scope, plan, and independently manage a broad, evolving scope of work. • Higher education in a technical or business field preferred; a strong mix of relevant experience can offset formal requirements. • Willingness to travel globally, estimated at 20% of the time. • Nice to have: experience sourcing hardware/electronics components (e.g. connectivity, sensors, batteries, PCBAs) or scaling a sourcing function in an agtech, IoT, or hardware scale-up.
