The RFDS WO provides aeromedical retrieval services and primary health care across the largest health jurisdiction in the world, assisting more than 20,000 patients each year. From our bases in Perth, Broome, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie and Meekatharra, our crews deliver exceptional health care to every corner of the state and are committed to the highest standards of clinical care, aviation safety and technology.
In 2024 the RFDS launched its new five-year strategy – Above & Beyond – which will lead the service into its centenary year in 2028. With a focus on expanding primary health care, growing profit-for-purpose services, strengthening our workforce, harnessing new technology and addressing our environmental sustainability; the RFDS in WA is striving to make a tangible and positive difference to the health of people in regional WA.
- A newly created role leading transformation for Australia's largest aeromedical service, where better delivery means better care for remote communities.
- A live portfolio that includes the PC-12 PRO fleet upgrade and our new Geraldton base.
- Lead an established and dedicated team across change, project management and business analysis.
- Full-time, permanent role at Jandakot with hybrid working, free onsite parking and not-for-profit salary packaging.
About the team
RFDS WA is growing fast, and our transformation agenda now needs a dedicated leader. This role reports to the Director of Technology and Transformation and inherits a full portfolio on day one. That includes upgrading our PC-12 fleet to the PC-12 PRO and establishing our new Geraldton base, alongside replacing core operational systems and transforming of our ways of working. Every initiative has to land without compromising patient care, safety or operations across one of the world's most remote and complex aviation operations. This is a real opportunity to shape how we reach remote communities for years to come.
About the role
- Lead a portfolio of concurrent initiatives, setting priorities and sequencing delivery to match organisational capacity.
- Build the governance, methodology and value realisation practice that measures outcomes and gives the Executive and Board clear visibility of progress, risk and benefits.
- Lead and develop your team, and lift transformation, project and change capability across the organisation so new ways of working stick.
About you
- A track record leading enterprise-wide transformation portfolios with multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams across business analysis, change and project delivery, with a coaching style that brings people with you.
- Demonstrated value realisation expertise, including value stream management and the ability to define, measure and report the benefits transformation delivers.
- Credibility at Executive level, with the commercial acumen to build business cases and the judgement to lead through ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, management, organisational change, strategy or a related discipline. Postgraduate study and project or change management certification are highly regarded.
This role requires a national police check.
