With a 100+ year history, we continue to shape the future of mining through innovation and strong operational performance. By joining our inclusive, world-class team, you can help shape the future of mining and make a meaningful difference.
Newmont’s Corporate Headquarters are located in Denver, Colorado with roles in Engineering, IT, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources and much more.
Your Impact
As Head, Site Technology & Operations, Americas, you will lead the strategy, governance, and operational delivery of site technology services across Newmont's Americas region. This critical leadership role ensures our mining operations are supported by secure, reliable, and standardized digital services that enable safe, productive, and resilient operations.
You will serve as the key technology partner to regional and site leadership, translating business priorities into a clear technology roadmap while ensuring alignment with Newmont's global Digital strategy. You will drive operational excellence across field technology, operational technology (OT), end-user computing, infrastructure, and site support services that keep our operations running safely and efficiently.
As Part of Our Team
- Lead the regional technology roadmap for the Americas sites, ensuring site priorities are translated into a focused, sequenced demand plan aligned to Newmont’s global Digital strategy.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of site technology services, including operational technology, field IT, end-user support, local infrastructure, and site application support.
- Partner with Managing Directors, General Managers, site leaders, and enterprise Digital teams to prioritize technology investments based on operational value and site-specific needs.
- Establish the right site presence and coverage model across the region, ensuring Digital resources are deployed where they create the greatest operational impact.
- Lead regional technology teams, vendors, and budgets to drive service performance, reliability, cost efficiency, and business value.
- Ensure site technology operations support safe and reliable mining operations, including the integrity of OT systems, safety-critical infrastructure, and field connectivity.
- Monitor and report regional Digital performance, value delivery, cost efficiency, and risk items to the Group Head, Digital.
- Build and develop high-performing regional Digital teams across field IT, OT, end-user support, and site technology disciplines.
- Lead vendor strategy, contract management, service performance, and commercial outcomes for regional and site-based technology services.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
- A degree or professional qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience leading technology service delivery and operations across complex, multi-site organizations, ideally within mining, resources, heavy industry, or another operationally critical environment.
- Strong knowledge of site technology and operational technology environments, including OT systems, field IT, infrastructure, end-user support, and the demands of active mining operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead across geographically dispersed, culturally diverse, and operationally complex environments.
- Experience managing technology budgets, forecasts, vendors, service providers, contracts, and performance expectations.
- Strong stakeholder management capability, including experience working with senior operational leaders and translating operational priorities into technology demand and action.
- A practical understanding of health, safety, risk, business continuity, and operational resilience as they apply to field technology and site Digital activities.
- The ability to lead through influence, build strong cross-functional relationships, foster inclusive teams, and support change across a matrixed organization.
Your Work Environment
This position may be based in Denver, Colorado or Vancouver, British Columbia and supports Newmont's operations throughout the Americas region.
You will work across a geographically distributed portfolio of mining operations, regional teams, enterprise Digital functions, site-based stakeholders, and external technology partners.
The role requires the ability to travel to domestic and international mine or exploration sites where conditions may vary.
You will operate in a matrixed environment where success depends on balancing site-level accountability, regional execution, operational urgency, and global Digital standards.
What Is In It For You
- The opportunity to lead a regionally significant technology function supporting safe, productive, and resilient mining operations across the Americas.
- A highly visible leadership role partnering with senior operational and Digital leaders to shape technology priorities, service delivery, and regional execution.
- The ability to influence how Digital supports modern mining operations through field IT, operational technology, infrastructure, service management, cybersecurity maturity, governance, and data-enabled decision making.
- The chance to build and lead capable, inclusive, high-performing teams across complex, remote, and operationally critical environments.
- A role where your leadership directly supports Newmont’s broader commitment to operational performance, sustainability, innovation, and long-term value creation.
