Health Analytics Advisory Leader
Are you ready to shape how sophisticated health analytics advise executive decision-making? Join Aon and help bring our analytics capabilities together to deliver clearer insights and greater impact for clients!
This role may be based in Atlanta, Chicago, New York, or near another Aon office. Proximity to an Aon location is preferred; however, strong candidates who require greater virtual flexibility may also be considered.
Aon is in the business of better decisions
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.
As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.
What the day will look like
As Lead for our Health Analytics Advisory team, you will serve as the senior client advisor and advance our impact delivering, packaging and scaling leading analytics insights content across a growing range of analytic domains. Your role sits at the intersection of client advisory, analytics content strategy, financial measurement, and health economics. It also involves total-cost-of-care optimization and advancing Aon’s data-driven, AI-enabled client delivery model.
You will be the trusted voice clients and consultants rely on to interpret sophisticated analytics across many domains. You will also connect our financial, predictive modeling, health economics, clinical, pharmacy, network, and care delivery analytics into one clear set of client content and solutions.
You will:
- Advise clients and prospects on sophisticated, cross-domain analytics, translating financial, predictive, clinical, pharmacy, network, and cost-of-care analyses into actionable guidance for HR, Finance, and C-suite audiences.
- Lead sophisticated client engagements that bring together multiple Aon capabilities, including Cost Efficiency Measurement, Health Risk Analyzer, data warehouse and informatics content, Financial Experience Monitoring, and emerging analytics solutions.
- Develop unified client-facing analytics content that integrates different areas of expertise while balancing consultant-led, subject-matter expert-led, automated, and AI-enabled delivery.
- Partner with leaders across data platforms, clinical, and pharmacy analytics, actuarial and financial analytics, networks, care delivery, data science, AI enablement, analytics engineering, and Centers of Excellence.
- Develop measurement approaches that quantify the financial, utilization, engagement, and clinical impact of benefit programs, point solutions, and other interventions.
- Create data-driven thought leadership, including white papers, trend studies, market analyses, vendor category assessments, and regulatory impact analyses.
- Provide senior technical and methodological review across analytics domains, ensuring client content is consistent, accurate, and ready for delivery.
- Mentor colleagues and support special projects requiring alignment across clinical, actuarial, financial, and network analytics.
How this opportunity is different
You'll partner closely with analytics domain leaders, consultants, and client leaders to bring together repeatable, scalable analytics with deep-dive domain expertise — building a shared content capability that raises the quality, consistency, and client impact of everything Aon delivers.
You'll shape how we progressively deliver insight across the full client spectrum: from early-stage prospects with limited available data, to established clients with rich, longitudinal data ecosystems — and across employer segments of every size.
Success in this role depends on deep credibility in health and benefits analytics. It also requires a genuine passion for client advisory, positive relationship skills, and rigor to turn sophisticated analysis into scalable content.
The right candidate will have a track record of advising clients directly on sophisticated analytics decisions including evaluating health carriers, vendors, and point solutions, and bridging technical domains to produce unified, scalable models and deliverables.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Extensive experience with U.S. healthcare data, employer benefits, and insurance.
- Demonstrable experience as a client-facing analytics advisor, with excellent writing and presentation skills — able to guide senior partners (C-suite, HR, Finance) through sophisticated, multi-domain analytics with clarity and confidence.
- Demonstrated ability to work across various analytics fields by building consensus among actuaries, analytics leaders, and clinical/pharmacy experts. You also unify content across groups with different methods and priorities.
- Experience in measurement and validation of healthcare programs, including financial, utilization, engagement, clinical outcomes, and metrics related to return on investment.
- Experience serving large/complex Fortune 500 organizations as well as developing scaled solutions for smaller and mid-market self-insured groups.
- Experience with the broader vendor ecosystem serving the self-insured employer — Health Plans, PBMs, emerging point solutions, chronic condition management programs, and data warehouses/analytics platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with statistical measurement, causal inference, and data science/predictive modeling techniques, including work with large health claims datasets (HIPAA, de-identification, data cleaning, exploratory analysis).
- Solid understanding of medical and pharmacy claims reporting and billing — including ICD-10, CPT, DRG, ICD-10 PCS, National Drug Codes, and CMS codes — sufficient to engage credibly with clinical and pharmacy domain leaders.
- Ability to review technical work product across domains and mentor junior technical staff, including analysts, data scientists, statisticians, and actuaries.
- Well-developed project management and planning skills, particularly coordinating content and work across multiple partner groups.
- Advanced degree or bachelor's with equivalent certification in Health Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Epidemiology, or a related field is required. Candidates with equivalent experience are encouraged to apply. Ability to travel 10–20% is needed.
- Experience with recent AI transformation projects is a plus.
