Health Insurance Specialist

Our esteemed client in Pretoria is urgently looking for a Short-Term Insurance Representative – Medical Malpractice & Professional Indemnity for a hybrid/remote position.

The role is full-time and offers a basic salary of around R22,000, with a maximum of R25,000, together with a sliding-scale commission structure and group benefits.

This role is ideal for a technically strong broker who understands the medical professional environment and is passionate about delivering compliant, well-structured insurance solutions to healthcare practitioners. Candidates with no Medical Malpractice background will also be considered, although experience with Medical Malpractice will be a strong advantage.

Must have:

• Relevant RE (RE5)
• Class of Business completed for Short-Term Insurance
• Minimum 3+ years proven experience in: Medical Malpractice and/or Professional Indemnity insurance ( open to look at other brokers with no med mal experience)

Strong technical knowledge of:

• Claims-made policies
• Retroactive dates
• Run-off cover
• Policy extensions and exclusions
• Underwriting structures in MedMal & PI
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
• Advantageous Experience

Assist clients with:

• Claims notifications
• Claims documentation
• Claims follow-ups (in conjunction with the claims team)
• Work within MCD’s CRM and compliance systems to ensure excellent service delivery
• Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities where appropriate
