Job Summary

The SCM Data Analyst supports the organization's data-driven decision-making by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights. The Data Analyst collaborates with stakeholders across departments to develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations, while ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency. This role contributes to data governance and data management efforts by supporting data quality initiatives, maintaining reliable datasets, and assisting in the development of reporting and analytics solutions that improve operational efficiency and business performance.

This SCM Data Analyst role will be aligned to the Items Master Data Management function, and will play an important role in:

  • Providing analytical, operational, and report building support for the Items MDM team
  • Maintaining accurate supply chain product, contract and pricing data within enterprise systems
  • Leveraging data to drive toward standardization, operational improvements, and automation
  • Interfacing cross-functionally to support data governance and system improvement initiatives


Essential Functions

  • Gathers, cleanses, and prepares supply chain item and contract data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness of datasets.
  • Reviews and validates product information, including descriptions, pricing, and applicable coding, to ensure consistency and compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Writes and executes SQL queries or utilizes other tools to extract, transform, and analyze data for reporting and operational needs.
  • Develops and maintains reports, dashboards, and data visualizations related to contract/item status, data quality, and business operations to communicate key metrics, trends, and performance indicators.
  • Conducts descriptive and exploratory analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business needs, define data requirements, and deliver reporting and analytical solutions.
  • Ensures data accuracy and integrity by identifying data quality issues, performing validation and reconciliation activities, and resolving discrepancies with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Supports data governance and data management initiatives, including maintaining data standards, documentation, and contributing to consistent and reliable data across systems.
  • Supports supply chain and procurement initiatives, including product standardization, system enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Assists in data-related projects such as system implementations, data migrations, reporting enhancements, and access management activities.
  • Communicates findings and insights through clear documentation, visualizations, and presentations tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Manages multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • This is a fully remote role.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field required
  • 2-4 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, data governance, or related functions required

Preferences:

  • 4 + years of experience in data analytics, reporting, data governance, or related functions highly preferred
  • 2 years of experience working with large or complex supply chain item and contract master datasets, including data extraction, validation, and transformation using SQL or similar tools highly preferred
  • 2 years of experience working either 1) in the healthcare industry with supply chain item/contract master data, OR 2) with Oracle ERP Fusion (PIM, SCM, eProcurement), OR Oracle Health (Cerner) highly preferred
  • Experience supporting data quality, data governance, or data management initiatives, including data validation, cleansing, and standardization processes preferred
  • Experience with MDM integration platforms (e.g. Reltio, Informatica, SAP MDG), data enrichment platforms (Symmetric Health, GHX data connect), or enterprise data warehouse preferred
  • Experience using AI tools like Gemini, ChatGPT or Claude to accelerate daily tasks, run data analysis and build work products highly preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in SQL and data visualization/reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret item/contract master data and identify meaningful insights.
  • Understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and data validation techniques.
  • Ability to identify data discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and support data standardization efforts.
  • Ability to support item and contract master record builds within Oracle Fusion (using front end system and FBDI/ADFDI data loads)
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with data management processes, reporting frameworks, and enterprise data environments preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Relevant certifications in data management, analytics, or process improvement (e.g., CDMP, Six Sigma, CSCP) preferred
