SYMCA is growing its Employment and Skills Team. To support the development and delivery of our Healthy Workplaces agenda, we are recruiting a Healthy Workplaces Policy Support Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to join South Yorkshire's journey towards creating a regional Healthy Workplaces Movement. Working at the heart of SYMCA's Employment and Skills team, you will help shape and deliver policy that improves the healthy working lifecycle for South Yorkshire residents, supporting both regional priorities and emerging national policy developments. Reporting directly to the Policy Principal Employment and Skills, you will: - Support the development and delivery of work and health policy, helping to shape South Yorkshire's Healthy Workplaces Movement. - Work with local authorities, employers, community organisations, academic partners and other stakeholders to inform policy development and project delivery. - Gather, analyse and interpret research, evidence and data to support policy development and evidence-based decision making. - Monitor national policy and legislation relating to work and health, ensuring South Yorkshire remains informed and aligned with emerging developments. - Prepare briefings, reports and presentations for senior leaders, elected members and key stakeholders. - Support engagement activities, events, workshops and communications that promote healthier workplaces across the region. About the role As a Healthy Workplaces Policy Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the development of work and health policy across South Yorkshire. Working with colleagues across SYMCA and a broad range of external partners, you will help build the evidence base, relationships and programmes needed to improve health and employment outcomes for residents. You will contribute to policy development, stakeholder engagement, research and project delivery activities, helping ensure that the Healthy Workplaces Movement is informed by robust evidence and aligned with local and national priorities. You will also work closely with teams across housing, skills, growth, planning, energy and environment to embed health and work considerations into wider regional programmes and strategies. About you You will bring: Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to analyse complex data, research and evidence, and communicate key insights clearly. Strong organisational and project management skills. Experience of engaging and collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders and partners. An understanding of work and health policy and the wider policy landscape affecting employment and wellbeing. Experience preparing reports, briefings and presentations for senior audiences. You will be a collaborative and proactive team player who enjoys working across organisational boundaries. With strong analytical skills and a passion for improving outcomes for people and communities, you will help shape an evidence-led approach to creating healthier workplaces and supporting inclusive economic growth across South Yorkshire.
