ReEnergy supports strata councils and building managers by preparing and submitting Energy Star portfolio and greenhouse gas reports to the City of Vancouver. The firm also provides EnerGuide ratings for existing homes, helping homeowners qualify for federal and provincial rebates under CGHG and related programs. In addition, ReEnergy offers heat load calculations and thermal bridging analysis to support mechanical and envelope engineers in meeting their design objectives.
Role Description The Heating Air Conditioning Specialist is a full-time hybrid role based in Vancouver, BC, with a mix of on-site and work-from-home responsibilities. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems in residential and commercial buildings, including furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, and ventilation equipment. The specialist will perform diagnostic troubleshooting, conduct heat load calculations, and support energy efficiency initiatives aligned with ReEnergy’s consulting services. Daily tasks include performing preventive maintenance, responding to service calls, documenting work performed, and communicating clearly with clients and internal teams. The role also requires collaboration with engineers and energy consultants to ensure systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
• Gas fitting tickect class A or B
• Refrigrant red seal
- Candidates should possess strong HVAC skills, including installation, maintenance, and repair of heating and cooling systems. Including heat pump, VRF, boiler and furnace
- Candidates should possess plumbing skills relevant to HVAC system connections and basic piping work.
- Candidates should possess troubleshooting skills for diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control issues in HVAC equipment.
- Candidates should possess customer service skills to communicate clearly, explain work performed, and maintain professional client relationships.
- Candidates should possess preventive maintenance skills, including inspections, cleaning, and scheduled servicing to optimize system performance.
- Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship in HVAC or refrigeration, and appropriate provincial tickets (e.g., gas fitter, refrigeration mechanic) are preferred.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency practices, building codes, and safety regulations is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to both field and remote work environments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites in the Greater Vancouver area as needed.
