Following retirement of the current post holder, we have a vacancy for the post of Highways Development Management & Licencing Officer on a full time basis.
If you have a good attention to detail, a sound knowledge of highway matters and the ability to work through issues to deliver high quality solutions, you could be the person we're looking for to join the Developer Services Team.
Responsible for the Great Yarmouth area, you will be expected to manage your own caseload, provide the Local Planning Authority with professional advice on a wide range of highway topics; undertake assessment of highway implications on development proposals, co-ordinate the delivery of minor highway improvement schemes and coordinate responses to the Traffic Commissioner in relation to Good Vehicle Operator's Licences (GVOL).
You will typically spend one day each week visiting potential development sites; and will have excellent communication, negotiation and motivational skills, together with a commitment to continuous improvement of performance and customer service.
You will hold an HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification) or have proven relevant highways experience. It is essential that you have the ability to effectively communicate in writing to interested parties and planning professionals, to brief elected members verbally at committee and other stakeholders at public meetings.
