Palmetto Home Health is seeking an experienced Home Health Biller to support our Florida home health agency. This role is responsible for accurate claim submission, payment follow-up, denial resolution, and accounts receivable management. The biller will work closely with our clinical and administrative teams to identify missing information and keep claims moving through the billing process.

Hands-on billing experience in Homecare Homebase is required. We are looking for someone who can work independently in a remote setting, manage competing priorities, and communicate clearly when documentation or claim issues need attention.

Responsibilities

• Review accounts and documentation to identify claims that are ready for billing.
• Prepare, review, and submit home health claims using Homecare Homebase.
• Verify patient, payer, authorization, and billing information before submission.
• Monitor claim status and follow up promptly on rejections, unpaid claims, and underpayments.
• Research denials, make corrections when appropriate, and submit appeals or reconsiderations as needed.
• Post payments and adjustments accurately.
• Work aging accounts receivable and document follow-up activity.
• Identify recurring billing issues and communicate them to the appropriate team members.
• Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to obtain information needed to resolve claims.
• Protect patient information and follow agency policies for secure remote work.

Required qualifications

• Hands-on Homecare Homebase billing experience.
• Previous home health billing experience.
• Experience submitting claims, resolving denials, and following up on accounts receivable.
• Familiarity with Medicare home health billing and payer-specific claim requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and reliably from a remote location.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience billing Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
• Experience with payment posting, appeals, and aging reports.
• Familiarity with billing for skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social work, and home health aide services, as applicable to the agency.
