As one of the first points of contact for our restaurant guests, the Hostess will play an important role in setting the tone for the Palm Heights experience, ensuring every arrival is seamless, every interaction is thoughtful and every guest feels recognised and valued. Working across our Food & Beverage outlets, the Hostess will oversee reservations, coordinate seating arrangements, manage guest enquiries and work closely with our restaurant and hotel teams to deliver an exceptional and personalised experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Welcome every guest promptly, warmly and professionally, creating an inviting first impression that reflects Palm Heights’ Service Standards.

• Manage restaurant reservations, enquiries, confirmations and guest communications across telephone, email and reservation platforms.

• Coordinate guest arrivals, walk-ins, waiting lists and seating arrangements, ensuring a seamless and balanced flow of service.

• Escort guests to their tables with confidence and attentiveness, ensuring they feel comfortable and well cared for throughout the arrival experience.

• Recognise returning guests and VIPs, remembering individual preferences and personalising the guest experience wherever possible.

• Maintain accurate reservation records, guest profiles, seating plans, table assignments and daily cover counts, taking into consideration guest preferences, table availability and service capacity.

• Maintain awareness of server sections, daily assignments and operational requirements to support balanced seating, efficient table turnover and consistent service delivery.

• Communicate expected waiting times, delays, guest preferences and special requests clearly and professionally to ensure a smooth and informed guest experience.

• Respond to guest enquiries and requests with warmth, professionalism and a solutions-oriented approach.

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Palm Heights’ Food & Beverage outlets, menus, offerings and hotel experiences to confidently assist and guide guests.

• Prepare and organise the host station prior to each service, ensuring reservation systems, guest information and operational materials are in place and ready for use.

• Inspect the restaurant entrance, host station, menus and dining areas prior to opening, ensuring cleanliness, presentation and readiness meet Palm Heights’ standards.

• Work closely with Restaurant Management and service teams to coordinate seating, anticipate operational needs and ensure effective communication throughout service.

• Maintain clear and thorough shift handovers, ensuring outstanding reservations, special requests and operational matters are communicated effectively between shifts.

• Uphold Palm Heights’ Service Standards and contribute to a positive, collaborative and guest-focused team culture, building strong working relationships across the hotel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a hostess, reservations or guest-facing hospitality role, within a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant environment

• Demonstrated understanding of restaurant operations, guest relations and dining room service standards.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently and professionally with guests from diverse backgrounds

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing reservations, seating arrangements and guest information

• Ability to anticipate guest needs and deliver thoughtful, personalised service.

• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and professionalism.

• Proficiency in reservation systems, email and restaurant technology; familiarity with SevenRooms and Simphony is an advantage.

• Demonstrated commitment to discretion, teamwork and exceptional guest service.

• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Hourly Range: US$8.00-US$10.00 per hour
