For over 20 years, we have been delivering fresh food solutions to pupils and staff at Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Colleges across the UK. We serve over 1,000,000 meals each week and pride ourselves on our Fresh Food Policy, which sits at the heart of everything we do. Our success is built on the talented people who support our operations and drive exceptional service across the business.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive HR Administrator to join our busy and supportive HR team based at Thames Valley Park, Reading.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous administration experience who is looking to develop a career. You will play a key role in supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle while helping to deliver an efficient and professional HR service across our nationwide business.
No two days are the same in this fast-paced role. You will be responsible for managing HR administration, responding to employee and manager queries, supporting recruitment and onboarding activities, coordinating absence and occupational health processes, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the HR Support Inbox and providing timely responses to employee and manager queries
- Supporting managers with HR processes including probation reviews, absence management and employee lifecycle administration
- Coordinating onboarding activities for new managers, including DBS checks, references and induction administration
- Maintaining HR systems, trackers and employee records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
- Producing HR documentation including contractual changes, promotions, salary review letters and meeting correspondence
- Supporting recruitment activity through our LMS SmartRecruiters and internal vacancy communications
- Managing DBS processes and monthly invoicing requirements
- Assisting with TUPE administration and maintaining associated records
- Supporting occupational health referrals and employee wellbeing processes
- Producing HR reports and people-related data for the wider HR team
- Supporting HR projects, employee engagement initiatives and the annual people plan
After a period of training and development, there will be opportunities to gain exposure to employee relations casework, including absence management and performance management support.
This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, has exceptional attention to detail and takes pride in delivering a high-quality service. You'll be part of a close-knit team that works hard, supports one another and enjoys celebrating successes along the way.
- Previous administrative experience, ideally within a HR, recruitment or people-focused environment
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
- Understanding of confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately
- CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD is desirable but not essential
- A genuine interest in developing a career within Human Resources
- Hybrid working available following successful completion of the induction and training period
- Opportunity to gain broad HR experience across a large national business
- CIPD study support available
- Ongoing learning and development opportunities
