Verisure Uk and Ireland is one of our most important growth markets, operating in a large, underpenetrated category with significant opportunity ahead. Having successfully scaled over the last decade, the UK & Ireland business is now entering its next phase of development: combining continued growth with greater operational excellence, organisational maturity and leadership capability. Despite a challenging economic environment, the business continues to deliver strong momentum, achieving more than 20% year-on-year growth in new installations while continuing to gain market share and invest for future growth.
As we enter this next chapter, we are looking for an HR Director UK & Ireland to join the Management Team and play a defining role in shaping the future of the business. At Verisure, HR is far more than a staff function. It is a strategic leadership position that plays a critical role in enabling growth, strengthening performance and building the organisation required to deliver our ambitions.This is not a traditional HR leadership position. It is:

The role is expected to be London-based, with regular office presence and regular travel to Newcastle and to one of our 20+ sales branch locations. The successful candidate should be visible, close to the business and able to build credibility through direct engagement with leaders and teams, from MT level to frontline level with our sellers and call center agents.

Responsibilities of the HR Director
The HR Director UK & Ireland is a key member of the Management Team. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role combines strategic partnership, organisational leadership and hands-on operational execution in a fast-growing, people-intensive environment.
This is not a traditional HR leadership position - it is an opportunity to help shape the future of one of Verisure's most important growth markets. The successful candidate will play a central role in strengthening organisational capability, driving performance, enabling growth and ensuring the business has the leadership, talent and operating model required to achieve its ambitions.
Success in this role requires a leader who combines strong HR expertise with commercial acumen, operational rigour and the ability to influence at the highest levels of the organisation.
Responsibilities include:
Partner with the Managing Director and Management Team to drive business performance and organisational effectiveness
- Act as a trusted advisor to the MD and MT and lead the people and organisation agenda across talent, workforce planning, organisational development, reward, leadership capability, employee relations and HR transformation, ensuring the business can continue to scale while strengthening organisational maturity and operational excellence.
- Partner closely with the Sales Director to support the continued growth and scaling of a 500+ person field sales organisation delivering 20%+ year-on-year growth on FTE structure. Shape the recruitment, onboarding and people strategy for a business that hires for attitude, develops talent internally and operates through a fully field-based sales model.
- Strengthen employee relations practices, support complex people matters, and build the capability of Team Leaders and Branch Managers to lead effectively and apply HR policies and practices consistently.
- Partner with the Operations Director to shape the people strategy for a 400+ employee customer operations organisation in Newcastle, strengthening engagement, leadership capability, retention, performance and organisational effectiveness.
- Coach, challenge and support leaders across field sales, customer operations and support functions, helping raise leadership quality, strengthen accountability, improve employee engagement and drive business performance.
- Build the leadership capability, succession depth and organisational foundations required to support future growth, developing the next generation of leaders across the UK & Ireland business.
Lead HR operations and provide support to the organisation
- Lead and continuously improve HR operations and processes fit for significant frontline hiring, onboarding, development and employee movement fitting to any callcenter and field based operation.
- Build a high-quality payroll and reward operation, supporting a workforce where 80% of employees are paid through commissions, incentives and shift-based arrangements.
- Shape the ER function and HR partnership models especially with focus on field sales, where we have 500+ colleagues hired for attitude and managed through a decentralized organziation.
- Strengthen leadership and L&D practices, ensuring employees and managers have the capabilities required to drive performance, engagement and growth.
Contribute to the Global HR agenda
- Contribute to the broader Global HR agenda by engaging and bridging with Group HR, sharing best practices and helping shape HR initiatives across the organisation.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional and international projects, partnering with colleagues across countries, functions and Group teams.
Candidate profile
Experience and Qualifications
We are looking for a senior HR leader with strong commercial acumen, leadership maturity and the ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Proven experience leading a complex HR agenda at HR Director, Head of HR or equivalent level, acting as a trusted advisor to Managing Directors and Leadership Teams.
- Influencing business decisions and organisational priorities.
- Coaching and challenging senior leaders on performance, leadership and organisational effectiveness.
- Translating people strategy into tangible business outcomes.
- Leading transformation, organisational design, workforce planning and change initiatives.
- Experience supporting large frontline, field-based, multi-site or operationally intensive organisations, with a strong understanding of the people, leadership and employee relations challenges that come with decentralised workforces.
- Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to use data, KPIs and insights to identify opportunities, solve problems, inform decisions and drive business performance.
- Proven people leadership experience, with a track record of building, developing and leading high-performing HR teams and strengthening organisational capabilities.
- Hands-on, pragmatic and action-oriented leadership style, comfortable operating both strategically and close to the detail, with a willingness to roll up sleeves and help solve problems.
- Deep expertise in UK & Ireland employment legislation, employee relations and, ideally, unionised environments.
- Proven experience building, strengthening and transforming HR functions, operating models, processes and capabilities.
- Experience supporting leaders on both HR matters and broader business, growth and transformation initiatives.
- Ideally, experience in international blue-chip organisations and/or operating effectively in international, matrixed and stakeholder-rich environments.
- University degree or equivalent professional experience in HR, Business, Economics or a related discipline, combined with strong analytical thinking, commercial judgement and structured problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English.
