HR Manager / People Operations Manager (Bilingual English and Spanish), Remote, Full Time

JLA Law Group

Is this job info correct?

About J. Lee & Associates Law Group

J. Lee & Associates Law Group is a full-service law firm headquartered in Norcross, Georgia, serving the greater Atlanta metro and clients across the United States. We specialize in Personal Injury, Immigration, Criminal Defense, and Family Law. Our mission, Justice and Advocacy for All, drives how we serve a primarily Spanish-speaking client base with excellence, integrity, and care. The firm operates internally in English; our client communications are bilingual.

Our mission is bigger than any single file: we are changing the world one life and one case at a time. We are building a stronger, more organized, technology-supported firm, and we are deliberately building it with remote professionals across Latin America, because the best bilingual talent is not limited to one zip code.

What Kind of HR Team We Are Building

We are not looking for a traditional, compliance-focused HR generalist. Our HR department is a growth engine, not a risk-management department: it exists to find and develop talent, design the performance systems and KPIs that make expectations clear, coach people through the blocks that hold them back, and own the HR technology that shows us how the team is really doing.

• Not this: employee-relations casework, everyday grievances, internal investigations and discipline, policy enforcement, payroll and benefits administration as the core of the job.

• This: talent acquisition and capability building, performance frameworks and KPIs, professional coaching, and architecting the HR systems that track and drive growth.

If you see HR through the lens of business enablement and psychology, love building systems that help people do their best work, and are energized by watching people grow into their roles, keep reading.

About the Role

We are hiring a full-time HR Manager / People Operations Manager to own the people systems of a growing bilingual law firm and run them as a growth engine: a data-driven recruiting pipeline for every open role, an onboarding and certification path that gets new team members to full performance in 90 days, a continuous-feedback performance system with clear KPIs for every position, coaching for department leads and team members, and an HR technology stack whose data drives people decisions.

You supervise HR staff as the department grows and report to leadership with numbers, not anecdotes.

One search, four possible levels. We are posting at the manager level; depending on verified experience and interview results, we may offer Senior HR Generalist / HR Business Partner, HR Specialist / Talent Acquisition Specialist, or HR Assistant / HR Technician, each with its own published range. Apply if the work described here is the work you want to do.

This is a non-attorney, management role. Headcount, compensation, and final personnel decisions remain with the VP of Operations and the Firm Director; you design and run the systems that make those decisions well-informed and timely.

Who Thrives Here

At JLA, knowledge can be taught, systems can be learned, and skills can keep improving. Character, honesty, work ethic, ownership, and the willingness to grow are the foundation of everything we do. We look for people who:

• See HR as business enablement and psychology, and love building systems that help people do their best work.

• Take ownership: identify problems before they become emergencies, speak up when something is unclear, document work accurately, and follow the process.

• Coach rather than police: are energized by watching people grow into their roles.

• Treat every candidate and every team member with respect and discretion, especially when handling confidential information.

Schedule and Location

• 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (about 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM in Argentina during U.S. daylight time).

• Fully remote from Latin America: Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Honduras, and other markets are welcome.

What You Will Do

• Design and run the performance management system: KPIs for every position, 30/60/90-day certification, semiannual reviews, and continuous feedback in between.

• Build the dashboards and reports that show leadership how each team and person is performing, and turn them into coaching plans and staffing decisions.

• Own the recruiting pipeline for every open role: sourcing plan, structured screening, calibrated scorecards, practical assessments, weekly pipeline report.

• Conduct first-round interviews in English and Spanish, coach department leads on interviewing, and recommend offers with evidence.

• Coach department leads and team members through performance blocks with agreed plans and follow-through.

• Own onboarding from acceptance through Day 90 for every new team member, and build the training and certification path for each role with JLA Academy.

• Own the HR technology stack and its data: Google Workspace administration, the hiring, onboarding, and performance-review systems, the contractor platform, time tracking, and approved AI tools.

• Keep confidential personnel, position, and compensation records accurate; reconcile labor cost every pay period; supervise HR staff as the department grows.

Required

• Bilingual English and Spanish at professional written and spoken fluency, verified live during the interview process.

• At least four years in HR or people operations, including at least two years owning recruiting, onboarding, and performance processes for a team, and experience supervising or coaching others. Candidates with less may be considered for the Specialist or Assistant levels.

• Evidence of having designed or run a performance management or KPI system, not only administered one.

• Coaching experience: has helped managers or team members through a performance block with a documented plan and result.

• High proficiency with Google Workspace, including account administration, and with an ATS, HRIS, or comparable HR system.

• Working proficiency with AI tools for drafting, analysis, and organizing work, with sound judgment about what may and may not be shared with them.

• Data literacy: builds and reads the spreadsheets and dashboards that show how people and pipelines are performing.

• Reliable availability from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM ET, Monday through Friday.

• Own laptop and USB headset, reliable high-speed internet,, a quiet dedicated workspace, and a backup plan for power or internet outages.

Preferred

• Coaching or organizational-psychology training or certification (ICF, SHRM-SCP, or comparable).

• Experience with a contractor platform such as Deel and with time-tracking tools for distributed teams.

• Experience building HR systems for a U.S. law firm or professional-services firm remotely.

• Experience with LinkedIn recruiting pipelines and scorecard-based interviewing.

People-operations experience is required; our specific systems are not. We provide paid training on every firm system and workflow through JLA Academy.

Compensation and Growth

• Approved range at the manager level: $17.50 to $25.00 per hour, USD, paid every two weeks in U.S. dollars, placed by experience in three bands.

• Other levels on the same search: Senior HR Generalist / HR Business Partner $14.50 to $21.00; HR Specialist / Talent Acquisition Specialist $11.50 to $17.00; HR Assistant / HR Technician $9.00 to $12.50.

• Rate review at the 90-day certification, based on documented performance, JLA Academy assessments, and quality of work.

• Growth path toward HR Director / Head of People as the firm grows.

What We Provide

• Paid training on firm systems and workflows, plus ongoing JLA Academy courses, assessments, and access to approved AI tools.

• Eligibility under firm policy for paid U.S. holidays and sick-time support after 90 days, and paid time off (vacation) after six months.

• Health-insurance reimbursement of up to $150 per month after six months and internet reimbursement of up to $25 per month, under firm policy.

• Consideration for the firm's quarterly performance bonus after a full quarter of service, under the written bonus policy.

• Leadership that reviews your progress at 30, 60, and 90 days and invests in training you to the level the firm needs.

How to Apply

• Easy Apply with your resume in English, and email a copy with a brief cover note to Bdubin@jlalawgroup.com.

• Questions: (770) 609-9396.
