Job Summary

AmeriLife is currently seeking an HR Specialist to join our HR Operations team. This role reports to the HR Operations Manager with a dotted-line partnership with the HR Business Partner team.

This role supports HR programs, employee lifecycle activities, and day-to-day employee and manager needs while partnering closely with HR Business Partners and other internal teams. The HR Specialist will also support HR activities related to mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, employee onboarding, and integration.

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, job changes, employee data management, and offboarding.
  • Process and maintain accurate, timely, and compliant HR transactions in Workday and related systems.
  • Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, programs, systems, and processes.
  • Provide guidance on employee and manager self-service tools and escalate complex matters when appropriate.
  • Support M&A HR due diligence, including collecting, organizing, and reviewing employee, benefits, compliance, and workforce information.
  • Assist with acquisition onboarding and integration activities, including employee communications, data collection, system readiness, and transition support.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners on organizational changes, employee programs, change management, and other workforce initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, simplify, or automate HR processes.
  • Maintain HR procedures, job aids, and process documentation.
  • Support compliance, audit readiness, and HR-related reporting.
  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Legal, Compliance, and IT on cross-functional projects and employee needs.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS, payroll, and other HR software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field required.
  • At least two years of experience in related areas such as an HR generalist including benefit administration, compensation, recruitment, and/or compliance preferred.
