Want to be part of a UK hub, in a global business that is scaling rapidly, evolving fast and radically changing the decades-old delivery universe? If so, read on, as we’re looking for a HR People Partner who is based in the South/ South East of the UK to join our People and Culture team!
Our mission? To switch up the status quo and become the UK’s leading out-of-home business. With a fast-growing network of thousands of smart lockers, hundreds of leading retail partners and the launch of our transformative Send service, we’re bringing freedom to anyone with a parcel.
At InPost UK, we’re building an unparalleled group of talent that’s committed to help us power our mission to reshape the way parcels move, and redefine eCommerce logistics. Our team is packed full of top-notch experts in e-commerce, technology, scale-up growth, sustainability, logistics and supply chain. We’re a passionate bunch with high ambition – we collaborate, innovate, support each other, and leave egos at the door.
About the role:
The People Partner role is to support depot operations across our regional network. You'll work closely with the Regional Director on workforce planning and with individual Depot Managers on day-to-day people matters — from employee relations to performance and engagement. This is a hands-on, multi-site role for someone who's comfortable traveling across a depot network, building strong relationships with depot-level leadership, and flexing between regional strategy and on-the-ground problem solving.
What you’ll be doing:
Strategic Partnership
Act as the primary HR point of contact for the Regional Directors, translating regional business priorities (volume, SLA, cost targets) into people plans
Partner with Depot Managers at each site to support their day-to-day people needs and local workforce challenges
Attend Regional leadership meetings and Depot management meetings, bringing an HR perspective to operational decisions
Build strong, trusted relationships with Service Delivery/Depot Managers so they see HR as embedded in their team, not a remote function
Workforce Planning & Talent
Work with the Regional Director on headcount planning and resourcing across depots, including seasonal/peak staffing
Support talent reviews and succession planning for Service Delivery/Depot Managers and Team Leaders across the region
Identify and support internal mobility opportunities between depots
Employee Relations
Handle and resolve employee relations issues across all depots: conflicts, grievances, disciplinary actions, investigations
Coach and upskill Service Delivery/Depot Managers on performance management, difficult conversations, and consistent policy application
Ensure fair, consistent HR practices across depots, flagging and addressing inconsistencies to the Regional Director
Performance & Engagement
Drive performance management cycles with Regional Directors covering Service Delivery Managers and Team leaders.
Monitor regional engagement, absenteeism, and turnover metrics by depot; identify trends and outliers
Partner with the Regional Director on retention strategies for depots with higher-than-average turnover
Compliance & Safety
Ensure consistent compliance with employment legislation and working time regulations across all depots in the region
Partner with Service Delivery/Depot Managers and H&S teams on incident investigations, return-to-work processes, and safety culture
Change Management
Support the Regional Director in rolling out organizational changes across depots: shift redesigns, depot openings/closures, restructures, automation
Equip Depot Managers to communicate change effectively to frontline teams
Act as a change agent during regional initiatives, ensuring consistent adoption across sites
HR Operations
Partner with HR Shared Services to resolve pay, attendance, and contract issues across depots
Maintain accurate HR data across the depot network
Provide the Regional Director with regular reporting on regional HR metrics (turnover, absence, ER case volume, headcount)
What we need from you:
We’re looking for people who are ready for a fast paced environment, get their kicks out of problem solving and can balance getting today's stuff done, whilst building for the future. We’re looking for people with drive and natural curiosity – who want to do things differently. And do them brilliantly.
Experienced in a HR Generalist/HRBP role, ideally within logistics, distribution, or another high-volume, multi-site operational environment
Experience supporting multiple sites/locations with a regional reporting structure
Experience partnering with both senior leadership (Regional Director level) and frontline operational managers (Depot Manager level)
Track record handling employee relations cases independently across different teams
Skills & Attributes
Strong relationship-building skills — able to build credibility quickly with Depot Managers who may be new to working closely with HR
Able to flex communication style between strategic regional conversations and practical depot-level problem solving
Comfortable with regular travel across the depot network
Resilient and adaptable — able to manage competing priorities across multiple sites at once
Solid grasp of employment law and working time regulations
Data-literate: comfortable analyzing and presenting depot-level and regional HR metrics
Preferred
Experience with union/works council environments
Familiarity with HRIS and depot/scheduling systems
Full, clean driving license (if regular depot travel is required)
The InPost process:
We pride ourselves on our candidate experience. We want to make this as straightforward as possible, for you and for us! We will try our best to get back to you within a few days to let you know if we’d like to take you to the first stage. This normally involves a 20 minute chat with our Talent Team. If we both feel the connection, you’ll then go through another one or two stages, depending on the level of the role.
At InPost, we love uniqueness. Our strength is our people.
We strive to create an open, equal, inclusive environment in which everyone has the opportunity to flourish and be themselves.
