About Us
Komodo Consulting is a technology and strategy firm specializing in Digital Transformation. Operating in Portugal and Poland, we provide IT Consulting & Nearshore services. We support both public and private sector organizations through two main areas:
- Consulting — with a focus on strategy, investment analysis, and digital process improvement;
- IT Team Augmentation — helping clients scale and strengthen their tech teams.
The Project
We are seeking an HR Specialist (Part-time / Freelance) to manage Komodo Consulting's internal HR operations on a part-time, freelance basis. Working closely with management and based on a defined set of monthly deliverables, you will ensure that all HR processes — from onboarding to payroll — run in an organised, compliant, and people-centred way. This is a flexible, remote collaboration, compatible with other professional commitments.
You will have the following responsibilities:
Prepare monthly payroll inputs (absences, overtime, allowances, and changes) and coordinate with the accounting firm for payroll processing;
Review payslips and payroll documentation issued by the accounting firm, and prepare monthly salary payments for management approval;
Manage holidays, absences, and leave records;
Lead the full onboarding process, including contracts, Social Security registration, insurance enrolment, and welcome information;
Lead the full offboarding process, including documentation, final settlements, insurance cancellations, and access and equipment checklists;
Manage employee insurance (workplace accident and health) and occupational health requirements;
Maintain employee records and HR documentation in a complete, organised, and up-to-date manner;
Act as the primary point of contact for employees on HR-related questions and requests;
Ensure compliance with Portuguese labour law and legal obligations, including the Relatório Único;
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HR processes and tools.
You need to have the following skills/experience:
Solid experience in HR administration or generalist roles (3+ years);
Hands-on experience with payroll preparation, holiday management, and onboarding/offboarding processes;
Good knowledge of Portuguese labour law, Social Security, and employer obligations;
Experience managing employee insurance and benefits;
Experience working with external accounting firms;
Experience with HR or payroll software is valued;
Strong discretion and proven ability to handle confidential and personal data in compliance with GDPR;
Empathetic and approachable, with strong interpersonal skills;
Highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong execution capability and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously;
Fluency in Portuguese and English (minimum B2).
Location
Remote (Portugal only). Flexible schedule, based on a defined set of monthly deliverables.
