HR System Release Manager

Location: Parramatta CBD | Hybrid working |Full-time permanent role
Closing date Friday, 23^rd October COB.

About the role

As we transition from project delivery into business-as-usual operations, Uniting is seeking an experienced HR System Release Manager to establish and strengthen release management across our HR systems environment.

With quarterly Dayforce product releases, ongoing system enhancements, hotfixes and Uniting’s broader technology roadmap, this newly created role will play an important part in ensuring changes are planned, coordinated and delivered safely, with minimal disruption to the business.

You’ll take ownership of the integrated release calendar and coordinate release planning, governance, testing, readiness, deployment and post-release activities. Working across technology teams, product owners, vendors, HR specialists and operational stakeholders, you’ll bring structure, visibility and control to a busy release schedule.

This is an opportunity for an experienced release professional who enjoys managing complexity, anticipating risks and bringing people together to deliver reliable technology outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain an integrated release calendar covering Dayforce product releases, Uniting’s roadmap and hotfixes.
  • Coordinate end-to-end release planning, including scope, sequencing, dependencies, milestones, approvals and deployment arrangements.
  • Assess release readiness, identify risks and manage issues relating to testing, defects, data, operational impacts and business preparedness.
  • Provide clear release communications, status reporting and visibility of decisions, risks and dependencies.
  • Coordinate deployment activities, go/no-go decisions, post-release support, incident triage and lessons learned.
  • Maintain release controls, records and governance to support auditability, compliance and reliable change delivery.
  • Analyse release performance and implement improvements to processes, tools and ways of working.

About you

You’re an experienced release management professional who understands how to coordinate complex technology changes within an enterprise environment. You bring a disciplined, methodical approach to planning and governance, balanced with the communication and influencing skills needed to work across technical and business teams.

You’ll also have:

  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end releases across complex enterprise systems, digital platforms or technology environments.
  • Strong planning and coordination skills, including managing competing priorities, dependencies and multiple releases.
  • Experience applying release, change, deployment, testing and service transition disciplines within structured governance frameworks.
  • The ability to identify and manage release risks, defects, issues and operational impacts.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical and reporting skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and release management, service management or delivery tools.
  • Relevant qualifications in IT, business, project management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Experience with enterprise HR, payroll or workforce management platforms such as Dayforce or Optima would be highly regarded. Knowledge of ITIL, Agile, DevOps and software development lifecycle practices would also be beneficial.

Based in Parramatta CBD, this role offers hybrid working, with three days in the office each week (Tuesday, Thursday and a third day as required), and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the systems and services that support our people across NSW and the ACT.

If you have the experience to bring structure, assurance and confidence to complex system releases, we’d welcome your application.
