This is a hands-on individual contributor position with no direct reports. The role requires deep Workday expertise, independent judgment, and close partnership with the HR Director, Workday Project Manager and IT.

Key Responsibilities

Workday System Administration and Architecture

• Serve as the primary Workday administrator across HCM, Time Tracking, Benefits, Absence, and Recruiting; partner with Payroll on payroll-related configuration and issues.

• Configure and maintain business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, notifications, and validations that support consistent and scalable workflows.

• Apply knowledge of Workday architecture and data relationships to evaluate how configuration, process, and security changes affect connected modules, payroll, reports, integrations, and the employee experience.

• Configure and troubleshoot complex Absence plans, eligibility rules, accruals, balances, and policy requirements in partnership with HR and Payroll.

• Support Workday Recruiting configuration and workflows, including connections to hiring, onboarding, and employee records.

• Design and maintain role-based and user-based security groups, manage approved access provisioning and removal, and conduct periodic access reviews.

• Configure domain security policies governing access to data and tasks, and business process security policies governing who can initiate, approve, review, and act on transactions.

• Evaluate security changes for appropriate access, segregation of duties, confidentiality, and downstream effects; test and document approved changes before deployment.

• Establish data quality standards, conduct audits, and coordinate corrections to protect the accuracy and integrity of HRIS data.

• Support internal controls, applicable data privacy requirements, and internal and external audits; maintain access and security documentation.

Reporting and Analytics

• Build and maintain custom, advanced, and composite Workday reports, dashboards, and reporting calculated fields for HR, Payroll, Finance, and business leaders.

• Help stakeholders locate, interpret, and use Workday standard reports; translate business questions into reporting requirements.

• Validate report accuracy, performance, and security, and support data extracts and downstream reporting needs.

Integrations and Vendor Connections

• Manage and monitor Workday integrations and external vendor data connections, including API integrations, EIBs, Core Connectors, and Workday Studio integrations as applicable to the environment.

• Partner with IT and vendors on integration design, testing, troubleshooting, and remediation; validate the accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of data flows.

• Assess how changes to configuration, security, and business processes affect integrations and connected systems.

Production Support and Stabilization

• Manage the Workday Support inbox, triage and prioritize requests based on business impact, track resolution, and communicate status and next steps to stakeholders.

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 production support, investigate root causes, and coordinate complex issue resolution with Workday Support, IT, vendors, and functional owners.

• Collaborate closely with and support the Workday Project Manager during stabilization, including issue tracking, remediation, testing, and transition to ongoing operations.

Release Management and Strategic Planning

• Lead release impact assessments, testing, and deployment planning, including unit testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.

• Partner with functional leaders to develop and prioritize a Workday roadmap that aligns system capabilities, automation, and future enhancements with business needs.

• Lead approved optimization initiatives and recommend feature adoption based on business value, readiness, and effects across the platform.

• Support evaluation and, if approved, implementation of Workday Performance Management, including requirements, configuration, testing, and rollout.

• Provide technical guidance, documentation, and training to HR and Payroll power users to improve system adoption and effective use.
