The role provides practical assurance, advice and oversight across the firm, maintains relevant certifications and supports colleagues and clients in meeting legal, regulatory, contractual and internal standards.
We are proud of our collaborative and inclusive culture, offering a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including hybrid working options, electric car salary sacrifice scheme, option to purchase holiday, health cash plan and cycle-to-work scheme. We fully expect this to be a remote opportunity with frequent travel around the Carter Jonas national offices. Or you can base yourself at one of our many hub offices.
As a Partnership, we offer something genuinely different - a culture built on shared success, long-term commitment and collaboration, giving you the platform to build a meaningful and rewarding career.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own and maintain the integrated management system for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, including policies, procedures, document control, risk assessments, registers and the central knowledge library.
- Plan internal audits, coordinate external certification audits, manage findings and non-conformities, and ensure corrective actions are effectively closed.
- Maintain quality, environmental and health and safety accreditations, supplier schemes and certification portals, including annual updates and audits.
- Maintain statutory and operational registers covering incidents, near misses, non-conformities, stakeholders, workstation assessments, legal requirements and certifications.
- Provide competent quality, environmental and health and safety advice, ensuring policies and procedures reflect legislation, regulation and best practice.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes and ensure proportionate corrective actions are completed and recorded.
- Support client contracts through reports, meetings, workshops and oversight of contract-specific incident and assurance portals.
What Will It Take To Be Successful?
We are looking for an innovative, commercially-minded leader who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery.
- CMIOSH, or equivalent professional competence, supported by a recognised occupational health and safety qualification.
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management and environmental management professional competence.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and experience operating an integrated management system.
- Experience planning internal audits, supporting external audits, managing non-conformities and closing corrective actions.
- Sound knowledge of UK environmental and health and safety legislation and the ability to translate requirements into proportionate procedures and advice.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in a multi-site professional services, property or consultancy business, including major client contracts and supplier assurance schemes such as SSIP, SafeContractor, SMAS, Achilles, RISQS or UVDB.
- CMIOSH, NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety together with a recognised environmental management qualification.
- Strong practical knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including HSWA, MHSWR, CDM, RIDDOR, COSHH, fire safety, asbestos, working at height and contractor management.
Why Join Us?
We offer the opportunity to work with a collaborative, supportive team on a diverse and growing national portfolio, alongside a competitive rewards package.
As HSQE Manager, you'll be the firm's subject matter expert for quality, environmental and health & safety management, leading initiatives that directly influence how we operate nationally. With responsibility for maintaining key certifications, driving best practice and supporting major client requirements, this is an opportunity to take ownership of a highly visible function and make a lasting impact across Carter Jonas. Combined with flexible working and the benefits of Partnership, the role offers both challenge and reward in equal measure.
