Overview:
- The HR Analytics group is responsible for any employee-related data requests. This position requires intellectual curiosity, strong attention to detail and execution skills with the ability to transform data into stories and business solutions. Will design, implement, analyze data and reporting mechanisms to bring clarity to HR-related issues, overall trends and forecasting in the organization.
- Responsible for providing an advanced level of support to Human Resources working across several simultaneous projects/programs by developing new reports, dashboards and visualizations, expanding on existing metrics, as well as presenting recommendations for data improvement.
- Represent Human Reources in cross functional, high visibility projects involving business partners outside of the department, senior management, legal inquiries and regulatory submissions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and produce high complexity departmental reports and spreadsheets to include but not limited to project strategy analysis, historical reporting, employee life-cycle, trends and expenses.
- Identify trends, emerging issues and engage relevant stakeholders to develop project plans, organize virtual and physical events, synthesize multiple points of view and communicate findings
- Lead the creation and maintenance of various reporting dashboards. Go beyond basic reporting and delivery with the ability to analyze large amounts of data and information to provide meaningful insights and professionally communicate those insights to management and business partners.

- Conduct independent research and complex analytical projects to provide senior management with definitive employee trends and advice for areas to focus.
- May review validation of models completed by other team members.
- Prepare written summary and analysis of all validation work, using a combination of word processing and presentation software skills.
- Display an expert-level understanding of employee data, trends and systems to be able to provide guidance to our customers
- Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge (i.e. VBA, macros, advanced data techniques etc.)
- Track record of expert ability to manage and analyze large data sets, with careful attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with an equally strong desire to learn
- Advanced computer skills and strong knowledge of pertinent word processing, spreadsheet and database software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong project management skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to translate information requests into understandable outputs
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Previous Workday or other HRIS reporting and/or system configuration experience
- Previous modeling using SAS, R, Python etc.
