Job Description:

The Purpose of Your Role as a Human Capital Systems Manager

You’ll be at the heart of our Human Capital systems, keeping Workday and daily operations running smoothly while helping employees and People Leaders get what they need. From solving everyday challenges to keeping data accurate and employee processes on track, you’ll make a difference across the business.

You’ll lead and grow the HCMS team, bring focus to daily priorities, and connect the right people across Human Capital, Payroll, and Technology to get things done. Alongside your Human Capital Operations teammates, you’ll help turn improvement ideas into practical solutions bringing your firsthand knowledge into testing, rollout, and ongoing support to make work easier for everyone.

What You'll Be Part Of

  • Manage the daily operation and support of Workday and supporting Human Capital systems, including onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding
  • Coordinate daily support requests, set team priorities, monitor progress, and escalate issues that affect employees, payroll, or business operations
  • Oversee routine configuration, business processes, security, reporting, and data quality, ensuring operational changes are tested, documented, and implemented consistently
  • Coordinate troubleshooting for Workday and connected workforce and timekeeping systems, including Lumber, WennSoft, and BCX, in partnership with the Operations team, Technology, and vendors
  • Identify recurring issues and process gaps, resolve operational problems, and partner with Operations team members on root-cause analysis and sustainable improvements
  • Lead a team of four direct reports, setting clear responsibilities, developing capabilities, supporting cross-training, and balancing daily workloads
  • Partner with others on the Operations team on optimizations, automation, and new functionality
  • Contribute requirements from daily operations, support testing and rollout, and ensure updated processes can be maintained by the team

What We're Looking for in You

  • 6+ years in a Human Capital Systems, HRIS Analyst, or HRIS Administrator capacity
  • Hands-on Workday experience and strong knowledge of HRIS platforms and connected systems, including how configuration, data, and integration changes affect business processes
  • Experience managing daily HRIS support and partnering with Human Capital, Payroll, Technology, and process improvement colleagues
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and other functions and formulas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to work effectively across teams and levels
  • Organized, self directed approach with a track record of taking ownership and following work through to completion
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in HR Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields
  • PMP, SHRM CP, SHRM SCP, SPHR, or Prosci Change Management certification is preferred

How You Will Contribute

  • Own daily HCMS operations
  • Be accountable for daily support, system stability, data quality, and consistent execution of employee lifecycle processes
  • Provide hands-on guidance and people leadership so the team can resolve issues, meet operational needs, and maintain clear documentation
  • Coordinate with business partners to understand priorities and address downstream impacts
  • undefined

What This Position Is (and Is Not)

This position is:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations, stability, data quality, and effectiveness of Workday and supporting Human Capital systems
  • A combination of hands-on systems support, operational coordination, and people leadership
  • A partner to others on the Human Capital Operations team, contributing operational insight and supporting testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of system optimizations

This position is not:

  • Solely responsible for system optimizations, automation, or long-term systems strategy
  • Limited to responding to support requests—it also includes developing the team, managing priorities, and addressing recurring operational issues
  • A position where system changes happen without collaboration or consideration of employees, People Leaders, Payroll, and downstream business impacts

Why This Position Stands Out

You'll play a central role in keeping Human Capital systems and daily processes running smoothly. You'll help the team deliver dependable support while working closely with Payroll, Timekeeping, Technology, and other business partners.

You'll also contribute to improvements alongside your Operations colleagues, using what you learn from daily support to help the team reduce recurring issues, simplify processes, and improve the employee and People Leader experience.

If This Sounds Like You

If you enjoy leading a team, keeping systems and daily operations running smoothly, and working with others to improve processes, we'd like to connect.
