The Opportunity

Human Resource Expert

The Opportunity

This role sits within the Human Resources function at Berkadia and supports the operational backbone of the employee lifecycle. The Process Expert – HR is a hands-on, execution-focused role responsible for processing employee transactions accurately and on time, supporting data and analytics needs, and identifying process gaps that improve the overall efficiency and experience of HR delivery. This role works closely with Employee Relations, Compensation & Benefits, and Talent teams to ensure that transactions move smoothly from initiation to closure, and that our systems of record — primarily Workday — remain accurate and audit-ready at all times.

In this role, the key responsibilities are —

  • Process and execute employee lifecycle transactions in Workday — including new hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, and terminations — with a high degree of accuracy and within defined timelines.
  • Review HR data and transaction volumes to identify trends, bottlenecks, and process gaps, and recommend practical improvements to workflows and turnaround times.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of dashboards and reports that track process KPIs, SLAs, and data quality.
  • Partner with Employee Relations, C&B, Talent Acquisition, and Global HR Operations teams to ensure end-to-end coordination across lifecycle events.
  • Conduct periodic audits of employee data in Workday to maintain data integrity and support compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and update employee personnel files, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with statutory recordkeeping and retention requirements; support audit-readiness through consistent, well-organized filing practices.
  • Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key HR Operations transactions to support consistency and faster onboarding of new team members.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process simplification and support their implementation in partnership with the broader HR Operations and Systems teams.
  • Support ad hoc HR analytics, reporting, and audit requests as needed.

Your Qualification

  • Any bachelor's degree.
  • 4 to 6 years of work experience in HR Operations, HR Shared Services, or HRIS, with hands-on experience processing transactions in an HRIS platform (Workday strongly preferred).

Competencies

  • Working knowledge of Workday, including core HCM transactions and standard reporting; familiarity with EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder) is an added advantage.
  • Strong MS Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to work confidently with large data sets.
  • High attention to detail and a strong orientation toward data accuracy and integrity.
  • Process-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify gaps and recommend practical improvements.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage queries from employees and managers professionally.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities within defined SLAs.
  • Collaboration and stakeholder management across HR functions and geographies.
