HR Business Partner | Kismet Healthcare

Kismet exists because getting care should never be the hardest part of caring for someone. We're transforming the way people access healthcare services, lifting the struggle of managing care so people can focus on what really matters.

And we're growing fast. We're one of Australia's fastest growing health tech companies, backed by local and international investors, with acquisitions bringing new teams and new capability into Kismet at pace. We're not just building a business. We have a genuine chance to transform an entire sector.

We're also a Gold winner in the AFR BOSS Best Places to Work awards, and that's no accident. We invest deeply in our people and hold ourselves to the same high standard with our team as we do with our customers.

That's why we need a seasoned commercial HRBP to help us scale without losing what makes us special.

Why this role is different

Few HRBP roles offer what this one does. You'll be at the centre of a business growing and acquiring at pace, and play a real part in changing how care works in Australia.

You'll work side by side with our Chief People Officer as a true partner. In our flat structure there are no layers between you and the impact. You'll support all our employees directly, be trusted to act, and see the difference your work makes straight away.

You'll gain deep, hands on M&A experience, and you'll have a leader genuinely committed to your development.

And you'll do it somewhere that moves fast and doesn't do bureaucracy. We challenge traditional ways of doing things and use technology to enable our people, not slow them down. If you don't like process for process's sake, this is for you.

What you'll own

  • Owning HR operations and the employee experience. We want our people to have the most amazing experience working at Kismet, and that is built on getting every detail of their journey right. You'll run our HR operations end to end, setting the standard for quality and accuracy, making the judgement calls, and continuously improving how we do things. You'll be the trusted advisor employees and leaders turn to, and when new teams join, you'll make sure their experience is seamless from day one.
  • Culture and engagement. Culture is at the heart of Kismet, and we think differently about engagement. It comes from people believing in the mission, acting like owners, living our values and feeling connected to each other. Driving engagement will be a deliberate focus of your role, across every team, including those joining us through acquisitions.
  • Industrial relations and employment law. You'll be our go to on awards, classification, award interpretation, pay compliance, the Fair Work Act and employment law. With every acquisition comes new workforces, different awards, new contracts, so you'll work through complex and varied IR questions. We currently operate predominately under clerks.
  • People integration for acquisitions. This is where it gets exciting. You'll be at the heart of bringing new teams into Kismet, from change management, onboarding and contract and award harmonisation to helping people feel they belong. It's experience that will fast track your career.
  • The full employee lifecycle. You'll own and continuously improve every stage, from recruitment and onboarding through reward, development and exit.
  • Systems and reporting. We have an HRIS but want to make the most of automation and AI to take the admin out. You'll produce reports and insights that inform leadership decisions and support our growth.

You'll love it here if you are

  • Mission led, wanting your work to matter and drawn to a purpose driven organisation changing lives.
  • An operational expert. You know how great HR operations should run and you hold them to that standard. Precise, reliable and calm under pressure, you're the person others count on to get it right.
  • A champion of high performance. You understand what truly high performing cultures look like and what it takes to create them. You'll help us build and sustain a culture of high performance across Kismet, and you model it yourself through high standards, extreme ownership and quality results.
  • Commercial in everything you do. You bring a sharp commercial lens to every decision, weighing cost, value and impact, and understanding how people practice drives business results.
  • Technically strong across IR, awards, employment law and the employee lifecycle, and ready to hit the ground running.
  • Exceptionally organised. You juggle multiple priorities without dropping a ball and bring order to busy, changing work. Nothing slips through the cracks on your watch.
  • Fast paced and hands on. You move quickly, adapt easily and love the energy of a fast growing business. You're as comfortable in the detail as you are in the bigger picture, and no task is too small.
  • Disciplined and pragmatic, bringing rigour without red tape and applying best practice simply and practically.
  • Progressive in how you think, happy to question the way it's always been done and bring fresh ideas.
  • A strong, authentic leader. Conscious and kind, you lead with humility, integrity and heart. You influence through credibility, not title, and people trust you because you genuinely care. You bring out the best in those around you.

What we offer

  • Impactful work. Be part of a purpose driven organisation improving access to healthcare and making a lasting difference for people in the disability and aged care sectors.
  • Exceptional experiences. Inspired by the principles of Unreasonable Hospitality, we go the extra mile to create unforgettable moments for our customers, and for the incredible people who join our team.
  • A culture you can feel. Our values, Be Humble, Embrace Change and Be Better, guide our strategy and everyday decisions. We treat you like the adult you are, with a truly flexible, supportive and fun environment that lets you work in the way that suits you best.
  • Real connection. We invest deliberately in bringing our distributed team together through offsites, in person town halls, an annual leadership development program, employee resource groups and celebrating milestones.
  • Lean by design. We see small, highly skilled teams as a competitive advantage. We stay flat and lean on purpose, so decisions are fast, ownership is real and every contribution is vital.
  • Reward that matches performance. A competitive salary and bonus that recognise sustained performance.
  • Growth on your terms. We're redefining career progression by supporting both your professional aspirations and your personal dreams.
